Vinyasa + Yin Yoga (Level 1-2)

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.

We aim for your attention because inside each of us is a special needs kid: everyone has places in themselves where they are stuck and do not know how to be aware of what they are doing and what they could do. But everyone can move forward if they aim NOT for perfection, or accomplishment, or a medal, but simply to experience how they move. Becoming awake to yourself is both the method and the reward. Samatha Meditation

Brought to Britain in the 1960's, the traditional practice was introduced to laypeople through a graduated series of steps. This same practice began to be taught in Chicago in 2003. The simple stages of the graduated course help introduce the beginning meditator to the possibility of deeper and subtler mental cultivation, while the completed course provides the regular practitioner with a flexibility that allows the practice to grow with his or her individual experience. Strength & Balance for Active Adults
Time: 10:30 am - 11:30 am; Instructor: Susan P. Strength and Balance is a low-impact class designed to help you improve flexibility and balance while increasing muscular endurance. Strength exercises may include lifting hand-held weights, stretching resistive tubing and using your own body's resistance while also using your core muscles to improve balance and stability.
Hatha Yoga (Level 1-2)
Time: 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm; Instructor: Patricia S. It's said that a yoga student is a beginner for the first fifteen years of practice. That means there is a wide range of experience, ability, and proficiency among students in a beginning yoga class. And that doesn't even take into account other variables among students, such as age, injury, level of health and fitness, and normal body biases (most humans are not perfectly symmetrical). Accessible to students of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels, Hatha yoga is a great way to manage and reduce the stress caused by daily life. In this class, learn the fundamentals of yoga in a relaxed and fun environment. Richard Freeman once said, "Yoga begins with listening. When we listen, we are giving space to shat is. We are allowing other people to be what they are, and we are sanctioning our own bodies and our own minds to fully manifest." Yoga allows us to return to this present moment, and in this moment we can begin to discover the essence of our true self, our true nature. The meaning of the word Hatha conveys the intention of bringing two worlds of opposition together. The physical postures within Hatha Yoga gives us access to the mind and our heart by balancing and joining together "ha" meaning sun or masculine energy with "tha" meaning moon or feminine energy while deeply exploring the relationship of the inhale and exhale (pranayama).

Vinyasa Yoga (Level 1-2)
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm; Instructor: Kara S. Vinyasa means "linking" and refers to the linking of the breath to movement, or "Breath synchronized movement" every movement has a breath that corresponds. Creating energy, movement, and heat within the body through a sequence of breath-synchronized movements. During this Vinyasa class you will be guided to move from one pose to the next during an inhale or exhale. This style is also referred to as Vinyasa Flow because of the smooth way the poses run together, becoming like a dance.
Zumba Toning
Time: 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm; Instructor: Pierre C. Weighted shakers add a great upper body workout to your favorite dance fitness regimen. Shake it up with an amazing full body workout! Appropriate for all levels.
