She received her Bachelor of Science and Masters in Biology from John Carroll University. She is a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, Straight Wire Orthodontic Studies, Engel Institute of Dental Implants, Dental XP Externship, ADA, and the ODA. Raised in Chesterland, Brianne is excited to serve the community she grew up in. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, working out, and spending time with her husband and daughter. A nightguard slips over your teeth to protect them from damage. It also cushions the teeth and surrounding tissues from the extreme pressure that is placed on them by grinding and clenching behaviors. Orthodontics, too, reposition the teeth and support a healthier position that eases the undue stress placed on the jaw. As practitioners of neuromuscular dentistry, we have advanced training and tools to pinpoint the jaw position that promotes muscular relaxation and rest. In doing so, balance among the teeth, muscles, jaws, and joints is restored, and TMJD symptoms are dramatically reduced, if not eliminated.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Chesterland Family Dental Care is pleased to also offer Invisalign. Instead of fixed braces, Invisalign repositions teeth gradually with a series of clear, nearly invisible, and smooth thermoplastic aligner trays. These trays, which resemble a nightguard, are also removable. They slip over your teeth comfortably. When worn as directed by your dentist, the aligners place gentle forces on the teeth to move them into proper alignment. Around every two weeks, you will wear the next set of aligners in the series. Each aligner corresponds with a different step of treatment. So, it is important to wear them in the correct order. Also, only remove the aligners when eating, brushing, and flossing.
Braces
Braces have been the traditional answer to crowded, crooked teeth and issues with how the upper and lower teeth come together when biting down. They are generally a system of metal wires threaded through stainless steel brackets attached to teeth with tiny rubber bands (“O-rings”). These components apply consistent pressure on the teeth to gradually reposition them. Modern braces are generally smaller, sleeker, and do not scream, “metal-mouth!” when you see them. Some patients may choose tooth-colored brackets that blend in with the surrounding teeth.

Dr. Trudy Amstadt is a graduate of the School of Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. She was inaugurated into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society for academic excellence. Dr. Amstadt has also taken advanced courses in cosmetic dentistry, dentures, crown and bridge, occlusion, and neuromuscular dentistry. She has memberships with the American Dental Society, Ohio Dental Association, the Greater Cleveland Dental Society, and various study clubs.
