She received her education at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine before completing her residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Virginia where she was a Chief Resident. Dr. Assaad has received fellowship training in glaucoma at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She lectures to the public and is a published author.
Cataracts
A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye. When the normally clear lens of the eye becomes cloudy, vision can become blurry. Cataracts are common with age and can occur in one or both eyes. The clouding usually occurs slowly, but can happen quickly, especially after trauma to the eye.
