Founded after the merger between Department of Labor and Industry and Department of Employment and Training in 2005, Vermont Department of Labor is an organization that focuses on employment related issues. It offers services for enhancing provisions regarding employment security, labor market information, safety and training for workers and employers, workers compensation, and wage and hour matters. The organization operates workers' compensation and safety, workforce development, and unemployment insurance and wages divisions. Vermont Department of Labor also features a disability program that assists individuals who suffer from disabilities in entering the workforce. In addition, it provides apprenticeship opportunities that include supervised work experience and related instruction for candidates.
