        Based in Maine, Greyhouse Jewelry Appraisal & Estate Consulting, is owned and operated by GIA graduate gemologist, Russell Orms. With 35 years in the jewelry industry, Russell offers a unique combination of experience including couture jewelry sales, national design shows, manufacturing, appraising, and retail store management. During your appraisal appointment we take photos and specs of your jewelry. You take your pieces with you. Appointments are usually 30 minutes. Once the report is complete, you will receive a PDF that includes a description, digital images, diamonds plots, and a glossary of related industry terms.

        Overall

        I recently inherited a few pieces of jewelry. My insurance company said that if anything need to be appraised, it had to be done by a graduate gemologist. I brought everything to Greyhouse Jewelers. Russell was so nice and informative. He went through everything, told me about the pieces and let me know what he recommended for appraisal. What I really appreciated is that Russell didn't push the appraisal. Since a couple of pieces were valuable, I had Greyhouse do the appraisal. The printed report is bound, he includes pictures of the jewelry, diamond plots and very detailed information. My visit to Greyhouse was definitely time well spent.
