- Edison Home Health Care is a fully insured full-service, JCAHO-accredited home care services agency, licensed with the New York City Department of Health. We staff a full range of trained professionals comprising of nurses, home health aides, home-makers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers and nutrition counselors. The ability to remain in their own homes is vital to most elderly people. It helps them retain their dignity and their sense of control in the face of physical limitations, which often strips them of that very sense of dignity and independence. In fact, research shows that levels of happiness and personal satisfaction in the geriatric population are directly correlated to one’s sense of self-autonomy. However, parents are frequently urged by their own children, acting with only the best of intentions, to move out of the comfort of their own home, out of concerns for the parents’ safety, personal care, homemaking and social needs. All HHAs employed by Edison undergo specialized training and are certified. In addition, we provide them with regular continued education in order to keep them apprised of any relevant developments in the health care industry and to enable them to continuously develop their abilities as care providers. HHAs are compensated on an hourly basis, commensurate with their skill, education and experience. Moreover, HHA’s have room for advancement through continued education. Indeed, many HHAs pursue college degrees part-time, with a number going on to become nurses, physicians and other health care professionals. Occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and home nursing are vital services that allow the elderly or disabled person to live with dignity and in the comfort of their own home while at the same time ensuring that they receive the personal attention and medical care that they require. Whether the need is for medical care such as administering injections and/or medication, drawing blood for lab work or providing the therapeutic services aimed at enhancing motor function or speech, therapists and nurses enable the elderly to continue living at home independently while ensuring the home remains a healthy and safe environment.

What a dump agency.cant freaking get a hold of payroll spent almost half an hour on the ligne way to go Edison .
The aides are lazy, late, and do not follow health plans.
My plan is strictly housework. FLoors, laundry, ironing, dishes, and the toilet (not even the whole bathroom).
When sweeping/vacuuming they do not move mats, chairs, pet toys, etc.
I had to go over their work almost every time (which I'm not suposed to do due to my health).
They want to be on the phone, or watch TV. Oh well. I will put on the radio, but no phones while working.
I have a Kosher home. THE first question I ask, is if they have ever worked in a Kosher home, they usually answer yes, then get confused when I separate the dishes, give them different sponges, and most of all, tell them to wash the dishes in HOT water.
Do not use this agency, they are horrible. Their Aids are not professional specially a woman by the name Martha, my father has Alzheimer he was a little confused and wanted to go out for fresh air, so instead of calling the family she called the police, the police arrived and they took him to the hospital , they explained that when they get calls like this they must take him to the hospital. Long story short my father was sent to the hospital for no reason, I didn't get any phone call from the aid, if I didn't have a camera I wouldn't even know what's going on. The aid didn't call me or picked up my calls. When I finally arrived to the hospital the aid wasn't even there she just took off. The Drs had no information about him and couldn't communicate with him. It was a real nightmare that all started because he wanted to go outside and she didn't feel taking out.
