My cat was dying and I begged for a phone consultation or something to help him. This was the second time it happened that I was told to come in, even without my kitty for a consultation. Thesame thing was available by phone but the woman Michelle would not let me do the phone consult even after I told her that I was nursing my beloved kitty. By the time I finally got a phone consult my kitty was gone. This happened twice. I cannot even get Becker on the phone without paying. The cost of perscriptions are extremely high and it seems motivated by money practice. Bottom line, I could not get what Ineeded not even for a phone, see the lady Laura below who said the same thing. Iwill never gothere again.

Although it took forever to get in to see these vets, it's worth the wait if your dog has issues other vets can't fix. These vets try to get to the root of the problem, instead of prescribing drugs that only treat the symptoms. I switched my dog's food, switched his shampoo, switched his vaccines (they checked his blood for protection instead of giving unnecessary vaccines just to make more money) and he's doing much better. They don't do ER or weekends, so I still have an ER vet, if needed, but I'm thankful I made the long trip to see them.

Cleary the people posting below about lack of ER service did not read about her hospital prior to stopping by. They are WELLNESS vets, so the doctors want to see pets every 6 months to identify problems before animals crash or go into organ failure. They don't do any ER medicine. Their website (and the sheets I had to sign on my first visit) explains they recommend clients have an ER vet available, if needed. This is all very upfront and clear. Being upset a holistic, proactive clinic doesn't do ER medicine is like being upset your podiatrist won't do brain surgery! I have been going to this clinic for years. I agree, there are long wait times. That's because they are the very best vets at helping your pets live long, healthy lives. I have a local vet, an ER vet (for nights and weekends) and a wellness vet (Natural Pet). I love them all. And don't expect them to all do the same thing.

While this was a good vet while my pets were healthy, when one became ill i was told it would be 3-4 weeks before we could get an appointment. I was directed to go to a local vet who handles "emergencies". (One of my dogs developed a cough) When attempting to get my records to take to the other vet I was told they would not be released without the vets authorization,(I didn't know HEPA applied to dogs) and that they would fax the info to a vet, but would not give me physical copies. I vet who cannot be bothered by sick animals in a timely fashion but wants to see the animals twice a year seems more like a life coach than a doctor. I would not recommend this vet to anyone and have taken my business elsewhere.

The best vet around!

I have been taking all of my animals to Dr. Becker since the late 90s before she even had her own practice. She has thousands of clients from all over and it's easy to see why: she's the most caring vet you could ask for. Her integrative medicine approach is superior. Having mammals, birds, and reptiles, an exotic vet is difficult to find and she has been an integral part of their lives. Her staff is also wonderful, quickly directing us to an emergency hospital if the need arises since hers is not an emergency hospital. You couldn't ask for better, more caring, more comprehensive service! She also has been devoted to educating the public through her free public speaking at vet schools, conferences and community groups. She's just fantastic.

My cat was dying and they woul...

My cat was dying and they would not see me. They told me to go to another vet and would not even make room for one emergency. I called two times 10 am and 12:15pm on June 18 2012 to try to get my dying cat into medical care there. They just didn't seem to care. I am new to the area and I wouldn't recommend this non caring vet. Her hours are also horrible. Closes at five every day and is not opened on weekends. If your pet has an emergency they will not bother with you. I have never seen or heard anything as rude as this. They dont deserve even a one. The clinic goes by two names Bourbonnais family pet clinic and the one listed above. I had to go to another clinic who took me in that day without issues. My cat had a kidney failure and was put to sleep. Imagine going to a hospital that wont see you because your an emergency.
