Turtle Mountain Veterinary Service is a well-established, full-service, small and large animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care.
Vaccination
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room. We ask that all dogs be properly restrained on a flat leash or slip leash. We do not allow retractable leashes or flexi-leads as they are a liability for your pet and for our staff.
Behavioral Counseling
Horses need regular preventive dental maintenance every six months to one year. Unlike people, horses' teeth continuously erupt throughout their lifetime at a rate of two-three mm per year. The teeth should wear in correspondence to yearly eruption rate. Improper position of the teeth or improper wear patterns can lead to many health issues and behavioral problems.
Nutritional Counseling
Nutrition: Nutrition is often the cornerstone to living a healthy and long life. We can discuss your pet's specific nutritional needs for maintenance, weight loss or treatment of chronic conditions. We offer a wide variety of prescription diets for the treatment of many disease processes. We offer counseling and special diets for those pets who need to lose weight.

Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, surgical tooth extractions, and digital dental x-rays. All dental services are performed under general anesthesia with excellent patient monitoring and support. Veterinary Surgery
Turtle Mountain Veterinary Service in Bottineau, ND is a full service mixed animal hospital. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your companion animal and livestock. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy animals; early detection and treatment of disease as your companion animal ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime. We also provide herd health, medical and surgical services for livestock.
Spaying and Neutering
Herd Health: We offer pregnancy testing using ultrasonography, herd vaccinations, calf processing including castration, vaccination and implanting, brucellosis vaccination, and bull fertility testing. These services can be performed at your farm or we can work small groups of animals at our clinic. We can perform herd testing for disease screening, such as Johne's Disease, Brucellosis and Tuberculosis.

Laboratory Services
Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services: We offer care for your horse in case of medical colic, sickness, lameness, injury, metabolic problems, or chronic illness. We are equipped to provide intravenous fluids and have an in-house laboratory for quick diagnosis of medical problems. Emergency care for our regular clients is provided on a 24 hour basis.

We offer grooming in a limited capacity. We will groom cats and dogs that require sedation to be groomed. We are able to perform full body clips on dogs and lion cuts for cats. We do not offer a professional, cosmetic grooming service. We can refer you to professional groomers in the area if your pet is well behaved for grooming and needs routine maintenance.
