03/2010 Little Scoops in Blauvelt, NY does not deserve any stars based on our experience there. This is especially surprising given that we were dealing with the flagship store and franchise owner/founder. The place is really cute, the all-in price very good. However, the customer service and lack of communication are TERRIBLE! After almost 2 weeks of phone calls trying to reserve a date/time, I finally spoke to Michelle Violetto herself to make a selection. We made an appointment for that very day to visit the store, leave a deposit and sign a contract. In less than two hours time, Michelle booked the time slot to another customer. Michelle never communicated that a deposit or credit card number was required to hold the time slot. When I asked to discuss this with her, she immediately approached me in a confrontational manner. When I noted the lack of communication, Michelle became irate and condescending. Instead of being apologetic or offering solutions/options, Michelle was rude and unprofessional making statements like "don't tell me how to run my business" and "I'm not going to do for you what I don't even do for family" (referencing holding time slot/calling to advise of other booking). When I asked her to tone it down, she proceeded to state that "she had no time for this and was not in the mood". The worst part is that my 4 year-old-to-be daughter was standing right there the entire time and started crying hysterically because "the lady was being so mean about her party". I also did my best to remain calm since I am 8 months pregnant, but was not going to stay mute to such an unwarranted and disrespectful insult by this person.





Despite a good business plan and some obvious business acumen, Michelle Violetto is clearly lacking in professionalism and just basic human empathy and decency, even in the presence of the most important customer - a little girl who just wanted a party at Little Scoops...
