We are willing to work with existing providers, including therapists and primary care physicians to help create the medication regimen that is right for you and/or your child.
Emergency Care
Our staff strives to be available to all our patients when we are needed. Should an emergency arise, we leave options for how to contact us on our voicemail. We make every attempt to return voicemails the same day but can take up to one business day to respond. It is helpful to us if when you call, you the phone number where you can best be reached. If it is a true medical emergency, you should call the nearest Emergency Room or 911 and describe your circumstances. You can also walk into any Emergency Room at any hospital and report your situation. If our staff will be unavailable for an extended period of time, we will provide our patients with the contact information for a trusted covering colleague.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Michael has training in CBT for anxiety, depression and trauma, and with children he has used non-directive play therapy. His approach can incorporate cognitive/behavioral and/or psychodynamic and self-psychology based modalities. Disorders he has treated include Major Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and Schizophrenia when working closely with the psychiatrist.

Prior to entering private practice, Alison worked with various community agencies in Los Angeles including Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center, Family Services of Santa Monica, Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, and the CAPPS program affiliated with the Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA (now named the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior). While working at all of these diverse agencies, Alison gained extensive experience and expertise in diagnosing and treating many different types of mental health issues. Included in this list are Major Depression, Anxiety disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Psychiatry
Michael Spitz is a licensed clinical social worker who completed his MSW at Loyola University in Chicago. He has been licensed since 2008 and has been working in the field since 1999. His specialty is in psychotherapy with children, teenagers and families. He is currently a full time clinical social worker in Outpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Harbor-UCLA Hospital in Torrance, California. Previously he worked as a psychotherapist at Los Angeles Child Guidance where he provided individual and family counseling in an outpatient setting and in the public schools. After graduation from Loyola, Michael worked in a residential treatment center in Chicago. There he counseled and led groups for teenage boys who, after being placed there by probation or coming from juvenile detention, were struggling with substance use and other conduct delinquency issues.
