I have a very mixed review on this. It has been a long time since I have eaten here. I had family in from New Mexico that are from the south. It was the last meal here before their flight back. They can not get good southern fried catfish there so we decided to stop at Abe's Ole Feed House so they could get some good catfish. The fish had a wonderful flavor but it was overcooked. There also needs to be a grilled fish option. Spicy grilled catfish is amazing. The selection of vegetables and other items on their Buffet was great. Some of the vegetables lacked seasoning but were still good. Their mashed potatoes were perfect. Their potato salad is amazing. The meatloaf was very good but different with a touch of Bar-B-Q flavor. Lol I'm funny about meatloaf but I really liked this one. The hush puppies have a wonderful flavor but personally I think that jalapeño hush puppies need to be added. The rolls were dry and definitely lacked that homemade yeast roll taste. The boiled shrimp lacked a good boiled shrimp flavor. I didn't try the fried shrimp due to limiting my fried foods. Some type of southern cajun grilled shrimp option would be amazing if seasoned properly. Lol as you can see, I love a little Louisiana Cajun mixed in! When my daughter looked on website she stated that they also had crab legs on buffet, none to be found. The ladies taking care of the tables were amazing! Great service and very friendly with that good ole Southern hospitality added in! The employees kept the buffet freshly stocked and very polite and helpful. Now for the price! It does include a drink but no cheaper option for just water. Four adult women and price was $70 and some change. So basically 2 adults at $35 without tip. Yes it's a buffet and yes tips should be included when you leave your table! If all of the choices were properly cooked and seasoned, crab legs added and a few other options, the price would have been perfect! Definitely disappointed in overcooked catfish so this is why I gave an overall 3 stars. The catfish was the main staple food item we were wanting. We made it work and had a wonderful stress free meal in a relaxed homey atmosphere!
