Our Lab Retriever was diagnosed with lymphoma and we were very worried about him. The vet we first saw said he had probably 4 to 8 weeks left to live. We searched for a vet with experience treating cancer and lymphoma. That is when we found Dr. Bradley at the Belton Animal Clinic. Nothing was too small to ask. All of our questions were answered so that we understood our treatment options. She treated him with a combination of alternative and modern supplements & drugs. Her treatments got good results and the affected lymph nodes were greatly reduced. She recommended a course of chemo-therapy and we agreed. So, after several months of treatment from the Belton Animal Clinic along with the chemo-therapy, our precious 8-year old puppy is in remission! The doctors and staff at the Belton Animal Clinic have been very kind & accommodating to the needs of our Lab. I would definitely recommend them as a great place to take your pets.

Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
At Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center, we are trained in traditional Chinese herbal therapies. These help alleviate and manage both acute and chronic conditions and balance the whole body for the best chance to respond to issues and support the immune system during the process. Herbal formulas are combinations of 6-12 herbs and can be used to help with pain, arthritis, cancer, bladder stones, cystitis, skin conditions, ear infections, as well as chronic issues such as kidney disease, Cushing’s disease and support for diabetes.
Upper Respiratory Illness Treatment
All of the above alternative therapies have been used in our exotic animal patients, including birds, reptiles; and small mammal including rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and ferrets. Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center is one of a few clinics in the United States that uses these modalities to help our exotic animal patients. We have treated rats for respiratory issues, mobility and arthritis issues, feather picking in birds, managed patients with cancer and supported those with chronic medical conditions.

Infection Treatment

Ear Infection Treatment
Dr. Bradley Bays was certified in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2011 and has used this modality with huge success over a wide variety of issues. It is great for decreasing pain, anxiety and inflammation in all cases, but especially for arthritis and both acute and chronic inflammatory conditions such as pancreatitis, cystitis (bladder infection), otitis (ear infections) and cancer. Aqua Acupuncture is often used with dilute Vitamin B12 injected via very small needles into the acupoints. This allows for longer lasting stimulation of the points, and the B12 helps to support immune function.

Chronic Condition Treatment

Arthritis Treatment
Cold Laser – this laser therapy uses a low level laser to stimulate cellular activity and increase immune function (known as photobiostimulation). In doing so it increases circulation, decreases inflammation, helps eliminate infection and speeds healing of wounds. This therapy can be used for any inflammation (“itis”) such as otitis (ears), cystitis (bladder), osteoarthritis (joints), enteritis (intestines), etc.

Acupuncture is a modality that helps with so many issues in both human and animal medicine. It has been an especially great adjunct with western medicine at Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center in helping with pain, anxiety and stress-associated problems and as an adjunct to traditional western medicine for treating both acute and chronic medical issues including cancer, Cushingâ€™s disease, chronic kidney disease, arthritis, and any diseases that cause pain and inflammation.
Periodontal Disease Treatment
The same bacteria that can destroy tooth enamel can instigate peridontal disease. Periodontal disease is an infection of the tissue surrounding the teeth that progresses through stages. Plaque and tarter form first in the cracks of the teeth and at the gum line. At this point the plaque is not fixed, and brushing can dislodge it. However, if the plaque is not removed, inflammation of the gums or “gingivitis” can form causing the gums to become red, swollen and bloody. The plaque can harden onto tarter that can separate the tooth from the gum. Plaque can then form under the gum line and subsequently cause pus to form at the tooth root, impacting the tooth. Finally, the boney socket holding the tooth can erode and cause the tooth to fall out. This is all very painful process for your pet that can usually be prevented or slowed by adequate dental home care. However, as the pain is chronic and slowly progressive, it is not readily evident to the owner.

Laboratory Services
Preanesthetic blood testing is important in reducing the risk of anesthesia. Even apparently healthy animals can have serious organ system problems that cannot be detected without a blood test, which is why every pet should be tested prior to surgery. We all agree it is better to discover a problem before it causes anesthetic or surgical complications. If serious issues are detected, surgery can be postponed until the situation is corrected.
