I do have a few accessories and props on hand for babies and young children, but you have closets full! Feel free to dress your little ones in whimsical outfits, bright colors, tutus, costumes, bare feet...whatever suits their personalities! Babies photograph beautifully au naturale! Headbands and knit hats also add that something extra to a baby shoot. If you would like baby photographed with only a diaper, solid colored cloth diapers tend to look much better in a photograph then disposables. For family sessions, it is not necessary that everyone wear the same outfit, but coordinating colors, free of loud prints/logos/characters make for a much nicer family portrait. The same goes for senior sessions, logos and characters on clothes tend to distract from the real star of the picture! Seniors are welcome to bring sports uniforms, prom dresses, and/or whatever props they wish. Keep clothes simple for maternity sessions. Oftentimes a solid tank and jeans make the most beautiful belly pictures.

General Info

First and foremost, I like to keep things fun, light, and creative! I shoot on location; your home, a park, a favorite section of town, my neighborhood (my home backs up to the trail system). I can also do newborn and maternity shots in my home. Not sure where you want your session to take place? I can suggest several locations around Whatcom County that make for beautiful backdrops. Plan on a session lasting an hour. Sometimes half an hour is all the time a little one wishes to spend in front of the camera. Sometimes a baby needs to squeeze in a feeding, or fall asleep, or wake up and an hour just isn’t long enough! As a mom of youngsters, I completely understand the flexibility required when working with children. We shoot until we are satisfied!
