We brought my cat to Harford Emergency Vet, on a referral from our regular vet. She was showing symptoms of something neurological. Our vet had already looked her over. She said she would be in better care at the Emergency Vet. We show up, hand over my cat to have them look at her, go in a room and sit. She give us three options, with the the underlining undertone of euthanasia being the best. So in a bind and trusting what a doctor says, especially one from my past as a vet tech, my poor cat laying almost lifeless, but still purring we decide on the euthanasia. The doctor goes to get the paper work and returns. She goes over the paper work and ask us if we want her tested for rabies. I respond not once but two or three times "NO!" I already told her we planned on taking our cat home to bury her. I don't want her body mutilated.
The vet continues, telling us even though she is indoor bats could come in our house. Lady, there are no bats in my house! She won't give up, even after I told her no and my husband told her no!
My husband, upset over the situation already, says "your really pissing me off!" let's face it when you tell someone no the first time it should be understood! It's a no!
The doctor raises her voice and says "you don't cuss at me!" And walks out! In a career and time where people are emotionally stressed, dealing with the fact their animal is dying you get all mad because someone said PISS!!!! He didn't call her piss, he told he was pissed! Then they charge me $170 to do nothing to my cat! There was no blood work, no X-rays, nothing but they looked at her eyes. We ended up going back to our regular vet, where they actually cared and tried to help her. $71 for real care of an animal vs the pathetic service and treatment for an extra $100! Save your money people. Go where they actually care about you and your pets and not just your money! Harford Emergency Vet is an unrighteous, unprofessional place. All they want is your money! Pet owners beware!

Overall
very compassionate

The staff was wonderful they came rushing out to my car as soon as I pulled up. They took her right to the doctor. The doctor explained everything they were going to do. Everyone from the minute I got there geniunely cared about my pet. I was able to visit and tour the hospital. Now she is home with me happy and healthy.
