We will carefully examine your nose using a lighted scope and may use a CT scan or MRI in order to diagnose your nasal obstruction. The first step in treating nasal obstructions is getting the symptoms under control. Medications or nasal steroid sprays are often helpful in reducing inflammation of the nose and turbinates and providing immediate, short-term relief.
Computed Tomography
Image guided surgery. This procedure relies on a 3D mapping system using CT scans and information about the exact position of surgical instruments through the use of infrared signals. Brow Lift
The brow lift is an ideal procedure for individuals with low positioned brows or flattened brows which lack an arch. Most patients range in age from forty to sixty, though the procedure can be performed at younger and older ages if necessary. Eyelid Surgery
Dr. Oâ€™Mara performs the lower eyelid surgery at an outpatient surgery center using either IV sedation or general anesthesia. Surgical times will vary but generally average one hour in length. Excess fat is typically addressed through an incision located on the inside of the lower eyelid. If excess skin must be removed, the incision is sometimes made under the eyelashes. Working through the incision, Dr. Oâ€™Mara may remove excess fat responsible for bags or reposition the fat to a lower point in order to smooth the junction between the lower eyelid and cheek. Any excess skin beneath the eyelashes is also removed.
Liposuction
Submental or neck liposuction is a procedure involving liposuction of the neck and jaw line to remove localized fat deposits. This procedure can improve the contour of the neck for a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.
Rhinoplasty
As with other forms of surgery, candidates for rhinoplasty should be physically healthy and have realistic expectations for improvement. Computerized digital imaging is performed during your consultation to aid in visualizing how specific changes would alter your appearance. Younger patients are advised to postpone surgery until the nose is fully grown, which typically occurs during the later high school years.

Otoplasty
Otoplasty procedure in Beaumont, Texas which corrects outstanding or protruding ears. Candidates for otoplasty include children and adults who have one or both ears that protrude or are too visible from a frontal view. The surgery can be performed as early as age 6 or 7 and the ears will retain their new shape throughout adulthood. This is often a good procedure to perform at an early age as it can spare children the teasing that is often associated with large or protruding ears.
Scar Revision
Scar revision is a surgical procedure, which can minimize the appearance of scars that are raised, widened or depressed. While surgery cannot entirely remove a scar, it can minimize its appearance.

ProFractional-XC is a procedure done in our office. Topical anesthetic is usually applied prior to the treatment. The procedure normally takes 30-45 minutes depending on the condition and the size of the area treated. Most patients report that Profractional-XC is often less intense than laser resurfacing because only a fraction of the skin is treated.
Cosmetic Surgery
Fat injection, also referred to as fat transfer, is a cosmetic surgery procedure in which fat is harvested from a distant location, usually the abdomen or lateral thigh, and then injected into selected areas of the face. This effectively restores volume in areas where soft tissue volume loss has occurred as a result of the aging process. The procedure can fill wrinkles and lines, enhance the lips, and improve some scars and other skin depressions to restore a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Facial Implants

Chin Augmentation
Dr. Oâ€™Mara performs chin and cheek augmentation procedures at an outpatient surgery center using either IV sedation or general anesthesia. Chin implant procedures typically take thirty minutes to complete while cheek augmentation takes approximately one hour. For cheek augmentation, the incisions are typically intraoral, located inside of the mouth below the cheek. For chin augmentation, a small skin incision is made just beneath the chin. Working through these incisions, Dr. Oâ€™Mara will create precise pockets over the mandible and/or cheekbones, then place the implants into these pockets.
Forehead Lift
The brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a surgical procedure which elevates low or drooping brows to a higher position, and acts to reshape the curvature of the brow in a more aesthetically pleasing way.

Skin Cancer
MOHS micrographic surgery, which is performed by a specially trained dermatologist, is a specialized form of skin cancer treatment in Beaumont, Texas in which skin cancers are excised and then examined under a microscope. This process ensures that all involved tissue is removed layer by layer while as much normal, healthy tissue as possible is preserved. MOHS excision has one of the highest cure rates. However, the procedure can leave defects, which are quite extensive.

Allergy drops are an important new treatment option for patients constantly refilling over-the-counter allergy medications or taking daily trips to the doctorâ€™s office for allergy shots. Currently, allergy drops are effective for treating asthma related to dust mites, as well as allergies to grass, ragweed, pet dander and tree pollen. Researchers hope to expand the treatmentâ€™s effectiveness for other allergies such as hay fever, eczema and food sensitivities.
Fungus
Molds are extremely common, both indoors and out. They are a type of fungus that thrives in moist, dark places. Not all molds cause allergic reactions, and not everybody who breathes in mold spores will experience symptoms.
Lesions
Reconstruction of MOHS defects is the reconstruction of skin defects resulting from excision of cancerous lesions and is often performed immediately after the skin cancer removal. Reconstruction is aimed at restoring form and function of the treated area. Dr. Oâ€™Mara performs MOHS defect reconstructions at his office or at an outpatient surgery center. General anesthesia is most often used, though IV sedation is also an option. While surgical times will vary, they average one to three hours.
Chemical Peels
BBL provides gradual improvement rather than immediate results. Depending on the extent of correction the patient is seeking, we recommend anywhere from 2-4 Broad Band Light treatment sessions, spaced three to four weeks apart. Because the treatments are so brief and require little or no recovery, they are ideal for patients with active, busy lifestyles, especially those who donâ€™t have the time to recover from more invasive treatment with laser skin resurfacing or deep chemical peels.
Skin Care
Also, patients may have sun-damaged skin in the form of pigmented spots, or problems with small blood vessels causing chronic redness. Phototherapy is a valuable tool often used in combination with other laser procedures to help improve skin discoloration. Please refer to the Skin Care section for more details.

Allergies
A skin prick test is the most common form of allergy testing. This test involves placing a small drop of an allergen extract on your skin. An applicator is then used to prick the skin underneath the drop; this allows for a small amount of solution to enter just below the surface of the skin. Once this is completed, any swelling or redness is measured and, depending on the size, is considered a positive reaction.
