        Mike's a bad motha f'er - best gym ever

        The best gym in Delaware! I have been coming here for 10 years and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. The staff is wonderful and inviting and supportive. The vibe is chill and it's like a big happy family here.

        What a rip-off! They re-enrol...

        What a rip-off! They re-enrolled people with reduced rate within 2 months of closing their Newark facility. I paid $150 fee for re-up -- then they close, and try to hold me to 12 month contract, saying I could still go to their Bear facility. When trying to appeal it (I'm a university staff member and could go a mile to the UD facility, rather than 6 to the Bear facility), they send me to some corporate billing place, saying there's nothing they can do. The corporate place says there's nothing they can do. How shady on so many levels. First, you can't tell me they didn't know they might close when they were enrolling people (who had been members for years) in new plan. Second, you can't tell me they can't get out of contract. Third, what jerks! I wouldn't trust those guys at all -- no matter how nice Mike looks.

        We signed a 5 year lease with our landlord in Newark and our lease was up. We simply could not afford the terms of the new lease in this down economy. It was never our intention to close this facilty and we stopped taking memberships the day after it was certain our lease would not be renewed. We also spent over a thousand dollars to send notification letters out to all Clients a month in advance. We purposely located our clubs well within the 15 mile radius required by law in the unfortunate event that this would happen to protect ourselves and our Clients. A large majority of our Clients have chosen to drive the short distance of 6 miles to the Bear location due to our outstanding Customer service. We apologize for the inconvenience but feel we went well beyond what was expected. Two local clubs recently went out of business completely, giving their Clients absolutely no advance notice and took memberships up until the day before they closed. Mike and I were absolutely devastated by the closing and did the best we could to mitigate the impact on our Clients. Do you honestly think we wanted this to happen? We both have families…
