Pain Management
Laser therapy treatment is a painless, safe and fast option for pain control. Treatments to deeper tissues can be administered in as little as 5 minutes but can take as long as 10 minutes. Typically, even chronic patients exhibit improvement after 3 to 5 treatment sessions. Laser therapy utilizes the body's own healing powers by stimulating cellular activity. Preanesthetic blood testing is important in reducing the risk of anesthetic complications. Every pet needs blood testing before surgery to ensure that the liver and kidneys can process the anesthetic. Blood testing also evaluates the number of blood cells to alert the doctor to hidden problems with infection, blood clotting, and blood levels. Some animals will benefit from additional preanesthetic testing beyond basic blood testing including: clotting profiles, EKG, echocardiogram, and blood sugar monitoring. Even apparently healthy animals can have serious organ system problems that cannot be detected without blood testing. If there is a problem, it is much better to find it before it causes anesthetic or surgical complications. Often, animals with minor dysfunction can still successfully have anesthesia and surgery if the anesthetic drugs are tailored to the pet's health. If serious problems are detected, surgery can be postponed until the problem is corrected.

Here at AHAH, we can apply an acrylic sealant to your pet's broken tooth surface to seal the dentin tubules, protecting them from bacteria. Sealing the tubules can prevent an infection that will result in a root canal or surgical extraction.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification. Microchips are a harmless device, the size of a grain of rice. The only information on the chip is a number unique to your pet. The chip is injected under the skin and between the shoulder blades.
