All Cities Taxi

I recently took all City taxis from Denver International Airport back home. The fare for this ride was $49.70 plus a $5 reading for an extra charge which was the Denver International Airport gate. I was curious why the fair back home from the airport was so much more than the fare to the airport. getting to the airport was only $39 getting home from the airport was $54. Why are the difference I ask myself. It was the same rate by the mile and for the initial pickup fee as when I went to the airport, from the same address. What happened is, Instead of taking the route the GPS told him to take, my driver decided to go a different way. A longer way. A more expensive way. Instead of I 70 he chose 225. With the $4.67 gate fee the fare should have been about $44 dollars not $55!!! I would recommend staying away from All City taxis Taxi, especially if you're not from the area. They will take the long route, therefore charging more. Obviously something is wrong with the meter, it says $5.00, the window says it should say $4.57. Forty three cents is no big deal, until you add another $10 unnecessary mileage to the meter also.
