        A local favorite of mine

        I experienced my first taste of Indian food at the Star of India restaurant in Athens, OH and trust me...the experience was nearly orgasmic. My fiancee' and I bought the meal for two which is very reasonably priced. It consisted of papadum and chutneys as an appetizer, a spicy soup, a platter of assorted Tandoori meats, 3 different curries, a huge plate of basmati rice and peas, nan bread and Kheer rice pudding for dessert. Absolutely delicious! The regular menu items are also reasonably priced with large portions. The staff here are very helpful and friendly, service is fast. We live about 45 minutes away from Athens and make special trips several times a year just to go to this restaurant!. Since my first trip to Star Of India, I have been to many other Indian restaurants all over the US...some good, some just okay, but none as good as the Star.
