Primary Care
Please note that with all HMO, MCO and POS insurance plans, your child's physician at Arundel Pediatrics or the practice name Arundel Pediatrics must be listed as the PCP (Primary Care Physician) on the card to receive services for the date of service in which the card was presented. If you come in for a visit and the PCP has not been changed or is incorrect, you will have to contact the insurance company in the office prior to the visit to correct the PCP. Your appointment time may be prioritized to accomodate other patients in the office and you will be seen at the next available appointment time.

"Meghann Wellard is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She attended Elon College in North Carolina where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to attend Johns Hopkins University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well as a Masters of Science in Nursing. Her pediatric experience includes several years as at Johns Hopkins Hospital where she worked in the Pediatric Emergency Department. She has spent the past several years practicing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in private practice. She enjoys all aspects of pediatric medicine and provides care to infants, children and adolescents. Her particular interests include newborn and well child care, child safety, and patient education. Mrs. Wellard currently has privileges at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Flu Shots
Effective October 13, 2014, all scheduled visits will require a copay at time of service. These visits include sick visits, consults, pre-op visits, alternative/catch up vaccine visits, and any other regularly scheduled visit on a provider's schedule. Flu shots, Flumist, Gardasil and Hepatitis A series will not require a copay at time of service, they will be submitted to your insurance company and if the insurance company assesses a copay to the visit, you will be billed.
Electrocardiogram
Based on the new American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines, we are recommending an in-person visit for a full physical exam and a comprehensive cardiac screening, based on the American Heart Association's new recommendations. We are able to perform screening EKGs as well, and can refer to cardiology based on any concerns at that visit. We are also able to recommend guidelines for returning back to physical activity in 7 stages, again based on AAP guidelines.
Immunizations
The Anne Arundel County Department of Health is offering FREE COVID-19 vaccinations to all Marylanders ages 6 months and older. Anyone who is part of an eligible age group can register for a vaccine at the clinics listed below or at many pharmacies or medical providers. Please see below for a list of vaccine clinics available and an outline of eligibility.

Her primary focus is on wellness and preventive health, and she tries to apply a holistic and integrative approach with all of her patients. She uses the functional medicine model to approach more complicated patients, with special interests in Asthma/Allergies, Autism, Behavior/Development, Celiac Disease, and ADD/ADHD/Mental Health. She and her husband live in the Annapolis area, where they enjoy their dogs, boating, exercising and waiting for their older children to come home and visit.

For consult appoinments - behavior, ADD/ADHD, medication consults, and other longer appointments, please try to schedule these with 2-4 weeks notice, as our physicians can only do a certain number of these lengthy visits each week.

She is passionate about newborn care since she spent most of her registered nurse career in the nursery and women services. We recommend that you schedule Well Visits, Sports Physicals, ADHD and ADD Reviews and Consults two months in advance as they do book rather quickly. Same day sick visits are given on a first come first serve basis.
