Terra Terra Company is a full service real estate company, which has operated in the metropolitan Washington DC area for the last 60 years. Prior to 1996, the Company operated under the name of Howard Brock Realty Company, Inc and specialized in brokerage, development, management, insurance and appraisal services. The current principals of the company, Howard Brock, Jr. and John J. Donahue changed the name to Terra Company, Inc in 1996 to more accurately reflect the diverse range of services the company provides. Right-of-Way Acquisition and Consulting providing contract services to local, state and quasigovernmental agencies for the acquisition of property and administration of relocation assistance programs for displaced property owners and tenants. Residential Construction specializing in the construction of new single family homes both as a spec and custom home builder primarily in close-in urban areas of northern Virginia. Development Land and property development activities including acquisition, assemblage, rezoning, site plan approval, financing, and construction. Projects have included residential subdivisions, townhouse and commercial mixed use projects. Brokerage Terra Company holds a Virginia Real Estate Brokerage license and continues our close association with Brock-Realty Company that provides residential brokerage services to Terra Construction and the general public. Over the past 30 years, the principals of Terra Company have had significant first hand experience in major real estate development projects. Mr. Brock, as a principal in Brock Development Company as well as Howard Brock Realty, was directly involved in the development of a 500, 000 square foot mixed-use project in Arlington, Virginia. He has also developed a number of residential projects in Northern Virginia and the Tidewater area of Virginia. As an MAI appraiser, he has prepared feasibility studies, market studies and valuation appraisals for hundreds of projects involving all types of uses. Mr. Donahue's development experience includes almost 15 years as the Senior Manager of Development Donohoe Companies, Inc He had overall development responsibility for numerous commercial development projects including office buildings, shopping centers and hotels. Prior real estate experience also included serving as Chief of Land Acquisitions for the Washington Area Metro Transit Authority ( WMATA ).
