Draft Horse Inn

pulled in late 1 night after deciding not to drive home not drunk but maybe. go into get room and nobody @ front desk. waited for good 10 minutes, rang bell, nothing! obviously didnt stay!

Upon arriving at the hotel, we pulled into the parking lot and noticed a woman with a small white dog getting back into her vehicle. I mentioned to the other 3 people with me that I should have brought my cat, seeing as how they allowed pets!

However, we did notice a sign on the door that specified that there were no pets allowed.

We had been driving about 4 hours from Milwaukee, and were attending a wedding in town. We quickly checked into our room, saw that it had been cleaned by housekeeping, and left.

After the wedding we went straight back to our room and went straight to bed. When I woke up in the morning, I went to the bathroom and opened the shower curtain only to find DOG FECES in the bathtub. I could not believe my eyes, and immediately woke the others in my group up and asked what on earth that could be from! We were all baffled and right away called the front desk. The front desk clerk was equally baffled and very apologetic. Housekeeping removed the feces and we hurried and packed up our things and proceeded to check out and headed back to Milwaukee, 4 in a car unshowered since we were so disgusted. Upon checkout the clerk apologized profusely and ensured us that we would be contacted by the owner and compensated.

One week and 3 phone calls (From our end) later, finally were able to get a hold of the owner. First thing mentioned was that we were supposed to be contacted, and his response was "yeah, I know." This was the first unprofessional move. He then proceeded to tell us that clearly someone had played a joke on us and that we were at fault for the incident and no compensation would be given. It seems clear to me that the room was cleaned in advance and we were informed that no one had stayed in the room the night before. The lady in the parking lot we saw at check in was leaving after looking at a room in the hotel. It is entirely possible that our room was the one she was shown (unsupervised) and that her dog had relieved himself in the shower before she left. And if it had been a joke, HOW on earth would anyone be able to get into our room when one key was locked in the room while we went to the wedding, and the other kept in my sister-in-law's purse. Begs the question "How secure IS this hotel?!?!". Not to mention we knew hardly anyone at this wedding. This is the worst customer service we have EVER received. All of us have or still work at hotels, in various management positions, and can not believe the way this situation was (or really wasn't) handled. We will be contacting BBB and the health department regarding this issue. I simply cannot believe an establishment would insult and disrespect a patron as the Draft Horse Inn has done.
