Overall
OK work but poor customer service

I have them installed a new outdoor AC unit in Aug. 2009.



Positives:

1. They seemed knowledgeable and honest during estimation process and offered the best price.

2. The installation was scheduled and completed in a timely manner.

3. The unit has been working fine so far.



Negatives:

1. The old thermostat was larger than the new one. So it left a hole in the wall around the new thermostat after it's installed. They did roughly patch it up with something, but didn't even bother to tell me about it or ask me about painting until I asked. I ended up having to fix it up myself.

2. They over cut the roof when making a second return and left an obvious mark. Again, they didn't seem to think it matters until I noticed myself and asked.

3. The old AC unit was put on my lawn after uninstalled. It burned the grass and left a brown mark for a long time. The driveway was just 1 foot away.

4. After the installation was completed, nobody ever bothered to call me to check how things worked out. All I got was a letter with a maintenance service contract in it (nothing but a contract, not even a thank-you letter). It's not a big deal, but a tiny extra step will make your customers feel better and goes a long way for the business. I didn't sign the contract. I am sure I can get the service from other places that don't mind caring a little more about their customers.

5. They were supposed to call the town and set up an inspection but never did. I called after more than 2 months. They said because they were busy. No appologizes offered what so ever.



Thoughts:

I don't regret that I hired Stewarts for the job, yet. But it's unlikely that I will do business with them again.

To whom it may concern, In 2009 Stewart's installed over 600 individual residential change out systems. It is my goal and wish for all systems to go off with out a hitch, apparently your didn't. Since late 2009 we have implemented what we call" Stewart's Quality Control System". This is a full report that is made after each installation and we not only look for these type "smaller" problems, but ask for customer input so we make sure no stone is unturned. This was also right around the time that we lost our lead install manager, and low and behold we did discover that he was behind on his permits. After this discovery, we have made inspections and permits a full time position and I am proud to say that we pull over 800 permits per year let alone new construction related permitting. I am sorry this learning experience was at your expense, but if there is anything further I can do in this matter, please do not hesitate to call and ask for Chris with your customer service needs.
