Fred Burton Paving

This being written in behalf of my elderly in-laws. We live on a hill and wanted a road that would stand up to the rain. Fred took the job and guaranteed his work. He said that the road would take some weeks to harden up. In the next week and a half nothing had changed. Then the rain came and washed the drive away. Rocks and craters appear on the once newly paved road.It looked like the orginal road again. Fred came and grated the rocks and original material on the drive so that we could make it up the drive. He said he would be back to fix the road. My too sweet mother in law told him that it was no rush since we could make it up the drive. This man got work from neighbors passing by our property. He charged her $14,000. Told her that a ditch needed to be dug that wold be another 4 thousand dollars after the intial contract was made. He bid on a job telling her that a ditch was not needed. Almost a month later she calls to see when he will fix the road. He comes out and walks her down the drive. Tells her that he is not going to fix anything. The road still has not gotten hard by any means. We just need some rain to tighten it up. My mother in law is dealing with a husband that is dying. She has more important things to worry about than the man who cheated her out of $14,000. She doesn't want to take time out dealing with her sick husband to hire a lawyer to sue him. This is just a warning to others.
