The Oaks Restaurant

After hiking up and down the San Bernardino Peak trail and spending some time in the San Gorgonio Wilderness, it is always nice to stop off at the Oaks for a civilized meal.



The staff is always very friendly even when the place is packed, and the food is great. My favorite is the fried egg sandwich, which I get with extra bacon. (I've even taken a special trip up the mountain just to satisfy a hankering for a fried egg sandwich)



The atmosphere of the Oaks is also friendly. The walls are covered with paintings (for sale) from local artists. I don't think the restaurant charges the artists anything to display there, they seem to just be interested in promoting local talent.



Next time you drive up highway 38, stop at the Oaks!
