Makar Eyecare

Makar Eyecare is a great place my last visit was great. The doctors are always very thorough. The optical has a huge selection of frames and the opticians are very helpful. They offer the best lens features. My recent purchase I got this new lens feature that cuts blue light. It really helps with the computer. It has reduced my headaches I am so pleased two thumbs up to Makar Eyecare

Don't go there. My son decided to try contact lenses instead of glasses this year. When we went in for his second appointment, where he was going to get his contact lenses they informed me that they forgot to order them. Why they didn't call and let me know before I left work, got my son out of school and drove to their office I'll never understand. That wasted two weeks. Secondly, they neglected to tell me there would be an extra fitting fee for my son's contacts until I was ordering his lenses. Nothing like going in to pay $25.00 only to find out there is a balance of $136.00 on the account. That's a hugh oversight. We had been going there for a couple of years and never had to pay for anything except lenses and frames. I complained and their solution was they would give me a 20% discount off his order. Remember his order was $25.00 that amounts to a $5.00 discount. They were going to talk about waving the fee and call me back but instead I got a bill in the mail. I expect providers to be upfront about charges that aren't going to be covered by my insurance. Especially when there is a history of no out-of-pocket expenses. I have dual coverage. Very unprofessional.

I will be returning to Anchorage very soon and am thrilled to have already found a business that more than meets my eye care needs and personal satisfaction. MAKAR staff are always very friendly and helpful and, in my 59 years, I have never had eye exams as comprehensive as they are here. Dr. Elizabeth Lane is the best! Under her direction, I feel my eyes are in the best shape they have been in many years.... glasses and contacts I can actually see out of and recommendations for vitamins that help maintain good eye health. The optical department has high quality eye ware and staff that goes out of their way to make sure that glasses fit well and enhance appearance. Appointments are easy to schedule and you get timely notification on the arrival of eye glasses and contacts. These folks are an awesome group of professionals and will serve you well.

I have been a client with Makar Eyecare for my 4 years in Alaska thus far and have received nothing short of the most professional and friendly service. Dr. Elizabeth Lane and her colleagues are a team of expert clinicians with excellent client rapport. I have recommended more than 5 others to their practice and they remain pleased. I have also met many who are clients of Makar Eyecare and have been for many years; all very pleased with the services they receive. I never have difficulty getting an appointment in a timely manner and the office staff is very courteous. And now, with the online appointment making system....it's gotten even easier. TWO thumbs up for Makar!!!

Makar Eyecare has been a great experience for me in the two years that I have been going. The staff members are very friendly, the selection of glasses are good and the facility is very clean.



My optometrist, Dr. Elizabeth Lane, has worked hard with me to make sure I received the fit that I need to be able to see in both glasses and contacts. The time and attention dedicated to making sure I got exactly what I needed was wonderful.



I always recommend to friends, family and coworkers that they go to Makar for their vision needs.

They Advertise evening and weekend appointments, web site even states until 5:30 weekdays; had extreme attitude from them when I asked for an evening appt and was told they had a 3:30, I said no, that's afternoon, I need evening. I was told "now listen, the latest he sees anyone is 4, so do you want it or not" When I said I guess we would not schuedle an appt just yet, the guy on the other end excliamed "GOOD!" and slammed the phone down on me.



Terrible service, new to town and need an eye doc, but it wont be these folks.
