General Info

The Airport Police and Fire Department is responsible for ensuring around-the-clock police, fire and emergency medical services at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Alaska. The department protects more than 7,000 employees and over 5,000 acres of land at the airport. Its responsibilities include enforcing various municipal, state and federal laws. The Airport Police and Fire Department responds to a variety of firefighting emergencies, such as structure fires and water rescue incidents. It provides services through a range of specialized teams that includes investigations, explosives ordnance disposal, bike patrol, K-9, drug interdiction, ice rescue and hovercraft rescue. The department is located in Anchorage, Alaska, and employs nearly 60 people, including certified officers and administrative staff.
