Doran Clinic For Women is a single-specialty obstetrics and gynecology clinic serving women living in Ames and central Iowa. We have a staff of 20 members. The services you receive are provided by board certified physicians who are highly trained and experienced in the management of routine medical problems as well as the diagnosis and treatment of complex disorders. The physician assistants, nursing, ultrasonography, clinical laboratory, and administrative staffs are composed of skilled professionals dedicated to consistently delivering quality services tailored to the needs of our patients.
Pregnancy
Labor and Delivery
From early pregnancy to after childbirth, complete prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care for routine and high-risk pregnancies is provided.

Urology
Evaluates the sperm concentration (count) and the quality (motility and shape). If the results are significantly abnormal, a urology evaluation may be recommended.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound scans for pregnancy and gynecology are conducted by our state licensed specialist who is registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
MRI
Some women – because of their family history, a genetic tendency, or certain other factors – should be screened with MRI in addition to mammograms. (The number of women who fall into this category is small: less than 2% of all the women in the US.) Talk

Laparoscopic Surgery
In the past, surgeons made large incisions in skin and muscle so that they could directly see and work on the area of concern. This is called open surgery. Today doctors still perform open surgery, but they can also perform many gynecologic procedures using minimally invasive laparoscopic or robotic-assisted surgery, possibly with da Vinci® technology. Both minimally invasive approaches require one or a few small incisions that doctors use to insert surgical equipment and a camera for viewing. In laparoscopic surgery, doctors use special long-handled tools to perform surgery while viewing magnified images from the laparoscope on a video screen.
