Okay, in an effort to support our local stores I made an effort to buy my supplies from here. It's true as long as I was buying they are very nice and have good recommendations. The pricing is 25 to 35% higher than the internet. This is okay I understand the cost of brick and mortar. After my latest experience I decided to look at this years purchases and I am up to $350 this year to make a good review.
So this is the issue, I had a pump go out, truth be told I overtighted the piping and broke the inlet threads. In a rush I drove across town not stoping at all of the big box pet stores and Home Depot to get a pump, but low and behold when I got back home I found I already had a spare pump, in my rush I completely forgot about it.
I went back to the store a few days later to return the never used unopened pump, and to buy PH up, verge grow, ph test pen and some other small items. I guess around $200. This when the idiot floored me by saying they do not accept returns unless it is a warranty return. Unbelievable, a $45 ish dollar pump in trade for all of my future business. Not to mention I can return a pump to China if I buy it on eBay, or maybe pets mart even. The true sign of customer service showed itself, not even store credit.
So sure they are nice and maybe even help you to your car, but you better be positive you want it, and do not buy extra to make sure your covered because unlike every real store with the customer Focus to do the right thing in mind, they will not take it back and watch you and you wallet leave them for good.
Good news, I have great places online and one of the competitors here in town gave a store credit of $30.00 for the pump even though I did not buy it from them.
So the competitor gave me a $30 credit to help me out. So I bought $250 ish worth of stuff. What way to win a customer.
