Glaucoma
Glaucoma is an eye disease that usually has no signs or symptoms, yet can lead to permanent vision loss if left undetected and untreated. Glaucoma is characterized by damage to the large nerve that connects our eyes to our brain, called the optic nerve. The optic nerve transmits the images created in our eyeballs to our brain, and a healthy optic nerve is needed for normal vision.

Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration. Also known as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), this condition affects the center part of the retina, the macula. Physical Therapists

Physical Therapy
Analogous to physical therapy for the vision system, vision therapy involves special exercises designed to retrain eye-brain circuits to perform more normally. Over time, these exercises improve visual deficits and reduce functional impairment.
Occupational Therapy
Visual rehabilitation involves constructing an individualized treatment plan to address each person’s unique issues. In some cases, this may involve occupational therapy to make a person’s environment easier to navigate.
