I brought in five shirts to be pressed. I was told by the unhelpful woman (who seemed to be confused, and or upset by something, she didn't really seem all that interested in doing her job) that the price would be $3.75 or near that. Five shirts, therefore, roughly $18.25. Alas, when I came to pick them up, I was charged, close to $5.00 per shirt ($24.75). Just a tad more then the price originally quoted. So, I asked about pricing. And, I was told by a different lady (who seemed far more interested in helping me) that it's actually cheaper to have them laundered AND pressed ($2.75 per shirt) then it is to have them just pressed. The woman who originally helped me happened to be standing there, so I asked her why 1) she didn't give me an accurate price, and 2) why she didn't inform me that it was much less expensive to just go ahead and have them washed and pressed ($2.75), instead of just pressed ($4.75?). She denied originally giving me the wrong price. And she with a gruff, dismissive laugh, she informed me that she had given me the minimum information she needed to give me. So, they chiseled about 10 extra bucks out of me today, but ultimately lost me as a potentially lifetime customer. You got your $10 though! Good job!
The woman at the Old Towne Cleaners at the Country Fair Shopping Center almost ran me over and yelled profanity at me because I was apparently in her way at the Tim Horton's drive through lane. When she jumped out of her vehicle, I attempted to yell over to apologize, but she just used more profanity and said I should get out of her way. I then reported it to the owner at the main Maple Avenue location who seemed to find it funny. She is still working there. I plan to patronize any dry cleaner but this one and urge others to do the same.
