One of the only places in York with lots of pool tables, but the service is terrible. Last time I went there were 3 people at the bar, and I walked up to get a drink.. the bartender kept telling me to wait while she took her good old time talking to another customer for 20 minutes, then approached me like I did something wrong. Also, a very quiet female friend of mine was carried outside by her hands and feet all because she laughed to herself while someone got kicked out for acting obnoxious. Then when they got outside, they laid her on the sidewalk and a bouncer sat on her stomach while repeatedly telling her not to come back. Avoid at all costs, if you want to play pool, drive to the West York Inn.
Went there last night with the wife. What a waste. The decor is early 70's and the chairs are left over from the 70's. Maybe a couple were intact, the rest were ripped and nasty. So the wife and I are playing pool and she's racking the balls, because every time I tried to, I hit my head on the low hanging light over the table. Her cue falls to the floor while she's racking. The owner comes over to yell at her about letting the cue hit the ground. Dude, it was an accident. She says, "I was racking the balls because my husband kept hitting his head." He replies (and this is an exact quote), "I don't care about his head - those cues are $8." Really? I was tempted to break the cue over my leg and toss him $8.We left immediately thereafter and won't be back. There are many great dive bars in the York area - this isn't one of them. On our way out, he said goodbye and added that he hoped to see us again soon?!?!?!?! Again, really?
Irvings is the absolutely best place if you have hurting, problem feet (and who doesn't). They are patient and accommodating. Dave is the best! They will try anything to make your shoes fit well and help you feet to not hurt! I love this store and will visit any time I visit my son. Keep up the good work DAVE!
I was there for a Christmas party in 2011 and it was great. Bartenders were great, food was good, music & ambiance was just right. I had a blast & would love to go back for a "Girls Night Out". B-)
