I am leaving this review on behalf of my parents experience in the Yadkinville Russell Cellular store. Last month, an employee named Will assisted my parents in upgrading my dad’s phone and talked them into a tablet saying they would get 2 free gigs as a promotion with the purchase.. William even turned to Jeff, the manager, and made sure he was correct which my parents said Jeff verified. The day after my parents made this purchase, my parent's told me about the tablet and I was skeptical about the cost they were told and called to verify with the store that the tablet would not be a monthly charge, just the monthly data charge. The man I spoke with said that was correct and mentioned the data. A few days later, my dad returned to the store to have the screen protector replaced since it was already coming up from the glass. My dad asked again about the 2 Gigabyte promo and he was assured it would show up on the next bill. My parents received their bill and not only were the 2 gigs NOT on there, but they were charged overages because the data wasn't there. My parents called the store and were informed that they didn’t have a large enough amount of data on their current plan to qualify for the promo so they would not be receiving what they were told they would be.Not only did they not take responsibility for their mistake, they gave my parents absolutely no direction on how to resolve the issue. Jeff, the manager, seemed to be incompetent in knowing about Verizon’s current promotions and making sure he keeps up to date on this information so that he can accurately discuss it with employees (like the new hire still learning the job) and provide it to the public. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with an incompetent store and travel the few extra miles to Mocksville where the management cares about the customers! The Yadkinville store clearly doesn’t care about you, the customer, once they put that phone (or tablet) in your hand.
