It makes me upset that Sarah has tried to make Almost kennels look like they were neglectful. Linda the owner has one of the best kennels I have ever taken my dog to. She loves her guests and gives them the best of care. My dog was at the kennel when kennel cough broke out . I was notified immediately and told Linda my dog had an up to date immunization. She told me that there are many strains and that my dog could still get sick if she had a compromised immune system. Linda was very upset that this virus had hit her kennel and was doing every thing she could to get the dogs out of harms way. It came on very suddenly and she moved quickly by notifying clients and isolating dogs as she made arrangements to close down to contain the virus . I know she was very saddened when one of her guests became ill. I understand the pain you must feel Sarah as we all love our dogs. However, this was an isolated incident and in no way reflects on the character of Linda or her business. It makes me upset that you /Sarah would target her it this way on social media and the pictures certainly are in poor taste. I will continue to do Business with Almost Home Kennels as I have for the past 6 years . This place is awesome and continues to be the only place I will take my dog. A.L.

This is a extremely sad situation all the way around with Pieogi the Great Dane. Unfortunately at the time of his boarding there was kennel cough at the kennel. For those of you of you who aren't familiar with kennels cough it's typically no more than a cold. . It's an airborne virus..The owner was told when their dogs were dropped off that we had kennel cough. Pierogi got kennel cough 2 days before his pick up day. The owner said they took him to the vet after they picked him up so he was treated right away. Most dogs don't require any veterinary care for kennel cough it's extremely rare for a dog to die from kennel cough. If you do a search on kennel cough yourself you will find that to be true. durning the time Almost Home Kennel shad kennel cough we had a total of 93 dogs in our facility either for boarding or groomig over approximately 3 weeks time other were fine. I believe many veterinarians would agree that for a dog to die from kennel cough they either have a compromised immune system or a underlying problem especially a young dog like Pierogi. Customer sent me an email wanting a refund she had another dog boarding as well it was never discussed if she wanted a total refund or just Pierogi. We felt since this is a airborne and most certainly wasn't any negligence on Almost Home Kennels part. The owner stated he had lost 10lbs during his stay which was 8 days. We are very aware that there are some breeds that can lose weight easily we do watch them closely. We fed him the amount owner requested and he almost always finished his food. We have never had a dog lose weight in my care. My sincere regard goes out to the family of this dog and I know their pain. This was a horrible situation and it's been extremely hard on myself and staff. I take the absolute best care of every guest and I believe We have many decade customers who feel the same way. We have been in business since 2001 and never had a complaint.

Our dog contracted kennel cough, which quickly turned into pneumonia during his stay. After asking for a refund of $171, the owner declined, stating that "she feels as though offering a refund would imply that she did something wrong or could have done more to prevent this from happening and didn't believe that was the case." She said our dog's breed is prone to respiratory issues, which is even more reason we should have been informed of his condition IMMEDIATELY, instead of the day we picked him up. She said that “he was eating and drinking normally” yet he somehow LOST 10 LBS IN ONE WEEK while in her care, which doesn’t indicate that he was being cared for very closely.



Our dog passed away after a two week battle in the ICU. It sickens me that I made the mistake of boarding him here. To anyone considering the same, please do your research. In the end, this cost us over $6,000, the worst two weeks of our lives, and the life of our sweet boy. He was only 1.5 years old.
