My appointment was in the salon, and I can tell you that the staff are not experienced at all. The stylist literally "chopped" my hair. My layers, instead of flowing naturally came out butchered and uneven. I felt violated.
The girl who rinsed my hair after treatment didn't rinse well enough, so I left with my scalp oily.
Then the stylist had the audacity to tell me my hair was too hard to manage! My other stylist has never had a problem with my hair, but then again he's WAY more experienced than the bag of fresh meat at this butcher shop. She should have said that from the beginning to spare me such a horrendous hair cut! I will NEVER return to Tu Moda after this, and I will be telling EVERYONE I know about what a mediocre salon this is.
Horrible experience with the hair salon portion of the business.I was a customer for over a year and was treated completely unprofessionally so finally I was forced to go somewhere else. They have been unable to find me in the system when I have called in and have messed up times of appointments in the past. The "owner" actually told the front office not to take my appointment unless they charged the full amount on my credit card because they messed up scheduling and said I didn't show up to an appointment when I never confirmed that I could get the time off work. One of the receptionist got in trouble because she booked me with another stylist when TuModa cancelled my appointment without letting me know.
This is not a place for people who have jobs, tight schedules and who need a salon that is reliable.
Their "consultation" that they require for a hair service is a joke and a waste of time. I have been fortunate to have been to many nice salons around the world when traveling so I was originally excited and thought it was a treat to have a stylist go over my hair and make recommendations. However,when I got there the stylist looked at my hair for one second and was like "soo what color do you want?" The whole consultation was over in literally 5 minutes..... if that. The worst part is that if you want something else done to your hair... you have to do the whole thing again?! Who has time for that in this day and age?
Trust me ladies, your money is well spent somewhere else.
I been going there for years faithfully..about two weeks ago I call the make appointment to get my hair down..the receptionist said I have to come in for a consult first.i told her I been going for yes to the same person and now why all the sudden I need a consult first.she continued saying that was there policy..well that policy sucks..we shouldn't have to make two appointments to get our hair done..all that does is Waiste our time gas and also what if we had something special planned and not aware of that stupid consult appointment..if we have to have a consult appointment do it the same day as doing the hair..anyways unfortunately after the rudeness and coldness of not caring from the receptionist I now have to do business elsewhere. Too bad
Myself and a friend went to this place in october of 07 . When we left we were a little insulted because they messed up our bill and over charged us both by $120.00 each . when we made them aware of it they insisted we should just keep it the way it was as a tip . after telling the lady that i already tipped the woman who did our service $45.00 she insisted that the mistake was made and we could get a credit for half of the $120.00 they over charged us . I let her know i was in no way going to let them charge my credit card the $120.00 over charge and after over 20 minutes of arguing with me i finaly got my card refunded the entire $120.00 . I just tried to make an appointment for a different service with a different woman and i had to cancell the apointment . she stated to me that my credid card number they had from october of 07 would be charged $75.00 for cancelling my appointment . I stated that my credit card was stolen and it was a different credit card number all together she told me if i wanted any services from them i would have to pay in advance and also pay the $75.00 cancelation fee for cancelling my apointment . Im told 48 hours isnt enough time to cancel an apointment . please stay away from this place . they are theives and con artists, I will never go back to tu moda again...
