Mountain Air Heating & Cooling

Call someone else. Mountain Air performed a heat pump tune-up in early Dec 2012 and indicated our system was ready for winter. After receiving electric bills showing an increase of 75-100% in kWh usage for three months, I phoned Dominion VA Power for help. Had a HVAC tech from another company check the system yesterday and he discovered a valve on the refrigerant line had inadvertantly been left open and leaking for the last few months, which in turn caused the heat pump to run inefficiently and use the kWh loving "aux heat" mode. I'm sure it was an accident, but at least own up to your mistakes.

Had an appointment scheduled for today at 3:00 pm to have my system checked. waited for approximately one hour until AFTER the scheduled time had changed and called the business. The operator told me that they had 2 appointments for the Staunton area today and they had both been changed. I KNOW I did not change the appointment because I have plans to the date it was changed to...so who did? They didn't know. When I asked why they didn't call me to inform me of or verify this change the lady said; "Well, we didn't get your phone number so we couldn't call you". Horrible service!!!!! I am sorry I went with these people! I will go with someone closer next time and if I could, this place would get a big ol' ZERO!!!!!!

Do NOT use this business. We used this company and was charged $195 to blow out a line. They are two minutes away, spent a total of 20 minutes! After complaining to the manager, they dropped $50, still Way too expensive for the service provided. Shame on you Mountain Air for taking advantage of the elderly!
