We waited for a long time at the entrance and nobody ever came and got us a table, so we just walked in and found ourselves a table and sat down.
Restaurant environment was good, food were not bad. Peoples came here to celebrate birthday.

I'm surprised this restaurant has such low ratings considering my wonderful experience.

First, i had a delightful waiter who had no trouble not only getting my order right, but also customized it for me with no problem

Second, The food was very good (one typically only get really great Meixcan food at a much higher price.)

Third, the manager cruised the restaurant to make sure everyone was doing well

and finally, unique to my situation, I had a birthday coupon but we couldn't find the proper registration and they happily made the exception and let it slide.

All and all a wonderful dining experience from start to finish.

I have been to many El Torito in SoCal but dining at this El Torito was the absolute worst. Even though the cantina was empty except for a family enjoying their appetizer of guacamole dip, I was rushed out. I wasn't done with my dinner but someone came and cleared the table, and for the first time ever while dining out, the waiter took the signed credit card receipt while I was still working on my dinner. I did notice that the waiter was counting his tips as I was walking out. I guess his shift was ending and didn't want to lose out on the tip. As for the family that was there, it consisted of a father who was sitting at the bar, mother, and a daughter who looked like she was in middle school was enjoying the guacamole at a table right next to the bar. That's right! A minor was being served in the cantina! I was so angry with the experience that I was tempted to call the police about the minor being served right beside the bar. Never going back to this El Torito.

Tip Rip Off System

This place is the worst of all the waiter they rip you off not matter what they are all in it including the manager.
The include the tip on each bill with out any notice or even tell you about it on any party 2,3,4,5,6
They include 20% plus if you don't pay attention you double tip them.
They get of way with highway robbery
If you complain with the manager he tell you that it was a mistake but they do it over over but the way the food is terrible.

Horrible food and service. A lot must have changed since the last reviews.

Our visit was not a pleasant experience. It was a Saturday night, around 6:00 PM the restaurant was not too busy, as there were plenty of open tables. Our party was 8 people, four of which were children and we were seated right away, without a reservation. The food and service was horrible. My food came to the table cold. Other entrees, A taco, which had meat which was black from being over done, a flauta plate, with chicken inside that was cold to the touch. When I wanted to have our server fix the issues with our food, our server was no were to be found. I contacted another server, who apparently gave the food to the manager. The manager, in my opinion, was more interested in explaining to me that food is cold and I should just eat it, rather than fixing the problems. I returned the cold entree dish, (Enchiladas y Carne al Ajillo) which I did not eat and when the bill came, the entree was still on the bill, even through the manager assured me it would be removed. When I asked for the corporate office information, it was at that point, the manager decide he should show more customer service. The food and service are not worth the money paid.

Very good

We eat here all the time. They have great food and very friendly service. Best burritos in town, plenty of parking.

It's a nice atmosphere though the restaurant is a little old so it comes off as feeling dirty.

A Fun Place to Go

A Fun Place to Go. With family, kids, or date it is upbeat and lively. Enchilada's are good, house caesar salad I love. The waitress I got last time outdid herself! When we came in however, no one was there and we had to go all over the place to get someone to seat us.
