As someone born and raised in Davis, I grew up using Arrowpoint for all our family dogs. They used to have a great time playing in the grassy area with the old livestock and other dogs. I got a new dog about a year ago and have taken him there three times since then when we went on trips. I was saddened to learn that they no longer let the dogs play outside due to the risk of foxtails, but I understood. the first time we took my dog there, I was impressed and happy with the service.
The second time we took our "boy" there we paid for two walks a day, but when we picked him up, he had only been walked twice instead of the six times he should have been walked. i gave Arrowpoint the benefit of the doubt and we took him back. Big mistake!
I just picked him up this morning after an eleven day trip out of the country. We bring our own food and also paid (again) for two walks a day. When we picked him up the bill did not reflect the additional fee for the extra walks, so we inquired. HE HAD NOT BEEN WALKED EVEN ONCE FOR OVER 11 DAYS!!!!! Furthermore, we had brought enough food for 13 days, but there was almost half the food leftover and given back to us. He lost 7 lbs in 12 days. All of this was especially distressing as I has called to reconfirm his food portions and number of walks per day two days after dropping him off (as they totally messed up the last time).
Needless to say, I will never take another pet to Arrowpoint Kennels, where you can expect abuse of your animal by a friendly, but clearly incompetent staff. I really wish there was more I could do to make sure that Arrowpoint doesn't do this to any other dogs. It happened twice to me (two times in a row) and therefore must be happening to other dogs. It is cheap, but my dog's well being is not worth a few bucks off.
ARROWPOINT KENNELS IS THE WORST! DON'T TAKE YOUR PET THERE!!!
