Beautiful facility with amazing arenas

I have been riding at Gold Creek for 4 years now and ever since i have been there i have felt at home. They treat every one like family. Gold Creek is a beautiful facility. It has amazing arenas. I dont know many other places that have 3 arenas that size!! The horses are amazing, yes some of them are a bit cranky but if you are really deticated to riding then u will work past that. I have created bonds with almost all of the horses there and once they know you are there for them they open up and follow you around like a puppy dog. I recomend GC for all riders, beginer or advanced. GC offers soo much and does every thing it can to make it the best riding experience ever. and for all of you people saying the horses dont get TLC thats a big piece of BS!!! those horses are sooo loved!!! i know so many people who go up just to care for them and love on them. I have gone so far thanks to gold creek. the trainers there put out soo much of their time for their riders. at every barn people are going to fall off. if you have a horse that doesnt act out then your lucky but riding a horse who may act out is the best lesson ever. it teaches you how to be a strong rider. horses are wild animals, people dont understand that you cant expect it to be perfect because they are wild and will do what they please. But over all gold creek horses put their hearts for you. they are loving caring and beautiful. if you are looking for a place to ride i recomend Gold Creek you will be very pleased with what you find.

Disgusting place i hate it!

This place was gross. I walked into the ""lounge"" and the first thing i saw was dust, a gross floor the office area was cluttered and no one was there. The largest arena was an okay size i didint really have anything to complain about when it came to the arena itsself. but the barns were unorganized, they were falling apart the bedding in the stalls was like a gallon of wood shavings each they were very small and most horses had no space. The water in each stall was cloudy and all the horses looked shagy and sad. The washracks are gross and muddy just a muddy and gross as the paddocks outside (there was about a foot of mud in each if there wasent mud it was gravel no grass at all). The barns were unorganized and the service was terrible (i couldent find a staff member at all). The arenas were okay but hard to get two (you have to go down a winding path down a hill to one of them). The muckheap was spread around and disgusting. The tack was dirty and unkept (bits and saddle pads were caked in either dirt, dust, or grass. The saddles bridles martingales and hackamores were falling apart, the tack lockers were gross and misskept. The floor of the tack rooms look like they were never swept at all. In the western tack room the gear was thrown about there was cat food all over the floor and there was extra helmets and boots that were falling apart and a big blue bucket with3 of english saddles (they look like they were thrown in). 1/3 of the stalls in the third barn were for storage and one had three ducks and what looked to be a dying sheep who was laying next to its cage (it looked like a rusted dog cage). The sliding dutch doors on the second barns were dangerous the top of the doors werent secure so the horses could just push them open. The horses looked shagy and mistreated and alot of them would kick, chew wood, suck air, nip, and just either shy away from you or act agressively when you pass by.Most horses were sweathearts and looked like they wanted to be helped out of there. Dont board there your horse will be just as sad as the others.\n

I had a good time

Wow...as a first timer at Gold Creek and first time reviewer I have to say I'm a little shocked at this. I had a nice experience with the barn. Instructor seemed competent, I felt safe on the horse, and I had fun...I read through all of the reviews and see that ""Linda"" has commented on here very negatively a couple times, but the comments are almost a year apart. I find it hard to believe that someone who hated the barn so much in March of 2010 is still there in January of 2011 - the fact that you're commenting now makes me think you have some weird horse vendetta against this barn...Well I always heard horse people are crazy:) Thanks for proving that I guess (I'm learning every day)... Oh well, bottom line: I had a good time and I'll be heading back for at least one more lesson.

I love it here and its a great barn

You know it really makes me mad when people right INCORRECT reviews about a great barn! This barn is the perfect place for beginers and advanced riders compeding in the A circut! The owners are amazing and bend over back words just to help each indevidual student when a problem occours. As for the horses, no horses are perfect but if you want to own your own horse then you have to learn to deal with difficult horses. Even grand pre horses have bad days. And once you advance from the easier horses to the harder ones you will improve tremendusly. If you dont feel comforatble the staff and other students will leave you confident once again. This barn does mostly hunters and jumpers but suports all kinds of disaplines. I have only good things to say about the new and improved gold creek equestrian center. The horse shows are super fun and entertaining and a learning experience to watch. The owners are very understanding and i only have good things to say about them :) even if you are not dead set on going come check it you wont be sorry! I love riding and leasing at gc and have been here for 2 and 1/2 years! btw all of you saying that it is a horrible place and you should run the other way... I HATE YOU!! u r lieing and shouldnt be riding there if you are that concided. i love it here great people great horses and you will not find a barn in this area that has this much room and is this nice of a facility!!!

10 stars!

rating 10 stars: If you could imagine a heaven with horses on top of a hill, this is the place! I have wanted a horse since I was old enough to remember anything. I have only had three lessons, but it has been the experience and dream of a lifetime. The people are wonderful, the horses are MORE wonderful (ha). I would recommend this as the ONLY place in western wa to learn how to ride a horse.
