Do not use Shawn or STC Automotive My 15 yr old son found Shawn on Craigslist. He did deliver a transmission to our house, that was nice. We got old transmission out and found it was the wrong one. My son got a hold of Shawn and he said he would bring out the right one later this week. This went on for 2 weeks, then we had to go on vacation. Shawn said, to my son, because he will not answer my phone calls or texts. Anyway Shawn said that he would pick up my sons truck and install transmission for free due to the problems. Sounds a little fishy from here on out. I told my son this doesn't seem right, and said no. So we get back from vacation two weeks later and Shawn said he has a guy in the area and will deliver on thursday for shure. No call no show again. Still not returning any communications with me. This goes on for a couple more weeks. Will be there this day and that day. Oh I had this problem or that problem. All excuses. Finally Shawn does call me and said that he was having issues with the right transmission, needs new clutch packs, he will do them at no charge since we had so many issues. Will deliver in a couple days for sure. No call no show again. That was the last time I talked to him. I told him to quit texting my son and to communicate with me. He kept texting my son. Called and told him he has 1 week to swap transmission or refund $. Has not communicated with my son or myself since I left him that voice mail.I would strongly not recommend STC automotive to check my tire pressure, let alone do an thing else to my vehicle. Buyer be ware he will take your $ and run. Whether you are 15 or 45.

if I could, I'd give a negative stars. Owner, Sean Curry, was supposed to rebuild my transmission. He had the car nearly 4 months, have at least 5 different excuses as to why a 2 or 3 day job was taking so long. After getting the car back, I drove it for 5 months, all the while it made nose I was told was nothing. Then reverse was slipping, took it back, claimed all ok, drove a tank of gas worth, pulled into a gas station, no reverse. had no reverse the whole trip back. Took it back to Sean at STC. Kept the car for another month. claimed fit angry entire new rebuilt transmissions installed. Drove the car home. the next day, the car wouldn't shift into any gear while accelerating. contacted ford dealership, who stated the transmission needed rebuild. advised Sean I wanted a refund because they were unable in reasonable time to hooks up there end of the service, as promised. First he said ok, then immediately said sue him, no refund. I've since filed with wisconsin consumer protection, and will be considering suing for damages even if refunded. I wouldn't hire STC Automotive to clean my toilet. I'm no kid who beat his beat his car, it's my work vehicle. I am a professional,and business owner who relies daily on their work vehicle. Most my work vehicles have lasted 250,000 reliable miles. this one is known for the tranny going bad and having had updates when rebuilding to make it last.
