Well to be honest I looked on the website for range opening times, read all the reviews and decided as a former fullbore
pistol owner in the UK I'd like to try the sport again, it would probably be my last chance as I'm getting on now and this would be my last visit to the USA.
So I drive for an hour and arrive within the opening times only to be told by Tim, who seemed really unenthusiastic and basically could not have given a s**t, that I could not shoot because a member of staff was out and that I should have called first, this is not stated on the web page and no other reviewers mentioned calling first. The young guy in there was friendly but I wasted 2 hours travelling and two gallons of fuel for nothing, not impressed.
I first went into Tim's guns and honestly felt out of place. That being said I wasn't much of a people person at the time. Since I first walked in to that store I've made 4 firearm purchases. The staff has repeatedly been helpful (given that they're not busy with another customer). Every time I walk in it's a first name basis "hey john hows it going?". Have actually become very fond of the staff there. That being said, there range for the most part isn't the biggest out there and although it's a pistols only I don't mind as I don't shoot anything else. It could be a little better ventilated but overall it's quiet and peaceful. They do monitor the range from the showroom to uphold safeties which is nice. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because honestly their prices are a bit on the high side. That being said though, I choose to support the local store. I have yet to have any need for a warranty of sorts but their customer service is well enough that no matter what any problem is they will take care of it. Ultimately, yes they are more expensive than some places, and less expensive than others. Derringers in Lakeland is cheapest but also not the friendliest or most knowledgeable. Lead feather in winter haven is by far the most expensive. All in all Tim's is very good medium on prices; everything else couldn't be better in my opinion.
This place use to be so much better when it was Cody's Armory. Free range use after a gun purchase, even range discounts for so many visits. Tim's website is rather cryptic; no information on range costs, ammo and targets. His standard range ammo is too expensive and you can get it cheaper at the sports section in Walmart or other places that sell ammo.
Well i have orderd a gun from tims guns and its been almost a month and i still dont have it, every time i call it has been one excuse after another first they forgot to order it and so on... I was told that it wouls take only 4 or 5 days to come in, i cant get a straight answer from anyone there. Also the owner acts like your not even there when your looking around, the other guys gotta help you if their not busy, worst purchase i have ever made i will never buy another product from there again and would advise anyone to go somwhere else

I attended my Florida required Concealed Weapons class at Tim?s. He was pretty knowledgeable; definitely felt like he had given the class before. I didn?t feel like I was the most important person in the room ?as the customer I expect to feel that way. Returned a couple months later ?with a mutual friend? to buy a pistol. I?m glad I gave him a second chance. Everyone in the place welcomed my $500+ purchase, were friendly and answered all my questions as this was my first-time gun purchase. Our dearly departed Mickey was a great ?answered all of my questions and gave helpful suggestions. I agree with lovesponge, the range is poorly ventilated, but so is Shoot Straight. The range is monitored by cameral ?a young man was messing around in there ?Tim got right on him! I didn?t feel unsafe at all. Also ?he charges by the half-hour ($6) ?less then half what Shoot Straight charges for an hour. An hour is a lot of ammo. 30 minutes is all I need and they don?t charge me any more. Lastly, I paid less than $525 for my Gen3 G23 ?New! That is ?I don?t think it was used. LOL I may have gotten a better deal in Orange or Hillsborough County, but I?m from Mulberry ?have no intention of crossing County Line to make such a purchase. I like spending money where I live, and Recker Highway is a nice ride, to and from.

I have done business with Tim's Guns and Range for years. Tim always seems ready to make a deal, is friendly and knowledgeable. He is always willing to spend time answering my questions and is willing to negotiate.
Great selection of firearms, ammo and parts. Also has a good website loaded with information and cool things to check out.

Anyone who says Tim's is a reputable dealer either never has been there or is Tim writing under a false internet name! Tim price gouges everyone who walk in the door aan some that do not over the internet. He sell old stuff claiming it is new. he sell old ammo as new. his range is very poorly vented and is very unsafedon't go there-i would not recommend
