This is not a review on the be...

This is not a review on the beauty services offered by Empire. This is a review to anyone out there thinking about attending this "school." First of all, let me be clear that The Hair Design School (also known as EEG/Empire Education Group) is a BUSINESS. In othr words, if you're a potential student, please do your homework and ask any & all questions that you can think of before you sign ANY paperwork. If any red flags pop up, don't ignore them like i did. My story goes like this: I attended their school in Winston-Salem, NC for 4 months and ended up owing $1952 and some change when i had to withdraw. The reason for my withdrawal was some attendance issues on my part, a week of car trouble (radiator; i was 26 miles from the campus) and a broken ankle th week after (had a lot of bad luck all @ the same time). I wasn't comfortable going back to school with nothing but a splint on, so i felt withdrawing was th best thing for me in th long run. I didn't want to take a chance and injure myself even more. Now, with all that being said, if you do decide to attend, hope, pray and keep your fingers crossed that nothing like that will happen to you. Because if it does, they will make you (yes, you have no choice) wait 6-7 months before you can return. Here's how their system works: every 6 weeks there's a curriculum change. There's Haircutting for 6 weeks, Nails for 6 weeks, etc. Now, if you have to withdraw for whatever reason, they won't let you come back until the curriculum comes back around where you left off. I calld the home office in PA to see if an exception could be made. After all, I'd be out of a cast in 6 weeks and I'd be on my merry way. Nope. No chance. No exceptions. so i decided to leave because i can attend a community college for a fraction of the costs of attending EEG, which is about $18,000 after the dust settles. Think long and hard before going to this "school."
