Our wedding ceremony and reception took place in the outdoor patio and garden area of the Zevely House Restaurant. Although the site looked beautiful and the food was delicious, we were very disappointed to learn that the manager had booked another wedding reception for the same time and location! Our food, cake, guest book, favors, and gifts were hastily moved to make room for the other reception, and my entire wedding party was relegated to a back lawn area. My own parents did not have an opportunity to sign my guest book. Even more upsetting to me, our wedding party was asked to stop playing our dance music a number of times to allow a string quartet to play for the other reception! I worked for a full year planning my wedding and was looking forward to dancing above all other things. Further, the flowers and decorations that we had paid for remained on the patio for the other reception. My husband and I had booked the entire site - inside and out - and had paid accordingly. We were very disappointed at the manager's decision not to honor our agreement in favor of additional profits. Although the manager did make a cost deduction at our request, no amount of money can make up for the disruption we experienced. The situation could have been even worse had it rained that day, with both receptions crammed into the restaurant interior. Sadly, I would not recommend this site for future wedding receptions. For those determined to hold their receptions here, I would strongly recommend a very thorough written contract.
This place surpasses all of the places that have been in that location previously. I'll try to hit on a few points: MENU: The menu is varied; they have a little bit of everything They have your traditional fast food fare all the way to home cooking, and some Greek cuisines as well. They have daily specials that are inserted into the menus with different specials and lists of vegetables available for that day. Plus, one of my favorite things is they consider banana pudding a vegetable/side :) (p.s. it's delicious) PRICES The prices are very fair. FOOD Delicious SERVICE Each time we have been, the service has always been excellent. The staff there are super polite and very friendly. Every we drive by there around lunchtime or supper time, the parking lot is jammed full of cars and the restaurant is packed to the gills with hungry people. :) That is what made us want to try it. We have been there four times already and we plan to continue coming back. CONS The only real complaint I have about the place is the shape of the parking lot. I realize the place just recently opened. But hey, maybe if it's successful they could later think about fixing the parking lot with actual parking spaces instead of a free for all. Overall, this place is great!
The food here really is worth the price. There are some high priced items and some very reasonable items. The salads are amazing (sounds weird for me to say that but they are my wife's favorite of any restaurant). Personally I have had the Lasagna, Cajun Filet Pasta (it was a special but they will make it for you if it's not too busy), Baby Back Ribs, Pizzas, and the Cheese Steak (at least that I can think of). They were all excellent. The only think I have had I did not care too much was the Pulled Pork - and it wasn't bad - just not great to me. This place has a lot of unique higher end dishes that I haven't tried - but have heard they are excellent. I would definitely give it a try. And if you do go, you HAVE to get the Lodge Chips as an appetizer. They are the best I have ever had anywhere.
First visit to Mozelle's today for lunch and can't wait to return! I tried the Tomato Pie which is fabulous!! It came with a choice of soup or salad. I had heard raves about their Tomato Bisque and they are well deserved. It is spicy, fresh and delicious. This menu choice also includes a small serving of a very interesting succatash served in a creamy sauce. Since I started at the top of their menu, think I will continue to work my way down on subsequent ... if I can bring myself to pass up the Tomato Pie. The service was prompt and friendly and the decor is bright and cheerful. As there are many restaurants in this area, parking at noon can be a problem, so suggest going early or late. Just be sure to give Mozell's a try if you are looking for a good spot for lunch.
I've been eating at Cloverdale for over thirty years and to me, it doesn't get any better, regardless of what you want. I highly reccomend it to everyone who hasn't been there at least once. Just try it and you will see as well as taste the difference. This is a place to find all the good home cooking and anything else that can be your favorite, and the service is outstanding. This place treats you like a customer. Come on down any evening and you will probally see me there and I might even get there for breakfast sometimes, see you there.
For almost 30 years I have been eating at Ryan's. I'm from Colorado and I love steaks. These guys do it right. I know every visit to Ryan's will be a great experience; food cooked with imagination, service folks who are happy to see you and want to make your visit special, and management that understands that we have many, many choices for dining out in Winston-Salem. I have taken my wife here for special occasions and business associates for meetings. Always the same- Terrific!
The food at Sweet Potatoes is good southern traditional entrees. What is unfortunate is the service you receive while you are there. The sad thing is the restaurant could turn tables over alot quicker and cut down on customers wait time if the waiters were more effient. We enjoyed our dinner, but had to ask for what was for dessert and thank our waiter, not the other way around. Really not sure if it is worth the drive from Greensboro or having to wait 30 minutes to be seated.
It isn't consistent, and for the money, it should be, every - single - time! All of their quality control appears to need tighter control, to include the wait staff. The wait staff may need better training, particularly regarding the total product Ryan's means to represent, ie. a completely relaxing dining experience. To that end, it might be worth considering an all male wait staff. Oh well, maybe next time, is there is one.
The food was great, Ms. Dolly is an amazing waitress she always take care of her customers. The only thing I did not like was while she was working her the owner and another employee was standing and conversing. The owner also kept playing and scratching her hair. That's a no no in food service. Besides that I would absolutely go back, it would be nice to see more diversity as well. If you go ask for Dolly :)
I've been eating here for almost 20 years. It was my parents favorite place to eat. Now, married at 30, it's one of my wife and I's favorite places to eat. The atmosphere, menu, service, and food are ALWAYS outstanding! As long as I've been eating here, I've never had a bad experience. Five stars doesn't say enough! You really must try this restaurant for yourself. I highly recommend it!
