My husband called Mark for a quote on cutting down a large old maple tree in our yard. Mark came out and gave us a quote and came the next day to cut the tree down. We were very impressed with how quickly he and one other guy had this tree down. This tree was also in a very difficult spot on our property. Our neighbors fence was just about touching it on one side and our pool about 15 feet from it on the other. Many other tree service companies came to quote us and refused the job because of the location and the difficulty even getting the equipment near the tree. Others told us they would have to remove our neighbors fencing to do the job...NOT MARK...He got his truck in there and did not have to remove the fence. They did a great job and also made sure the yard was clean before they left. We will be using them again and would suggest if you need tree work done that you give them a call. You'll be glad you did!

This place is incredible. Came right out for a quote and gave an
excellent price for the removal of quite a number of trees and branches,
including an entire section along power lines on our property. They did
very quick work, but when they noticed a couple of additional trees
needed removing, they came out on a Saturday to complete the job at no
additional charge.

I just had Mark and Stan of A- Discount Tree Service trim a number of trees at my house today August 27th 2014 and I couldn't be more pleased, they are very professional and polite and do outstanding work and clean-up. On May 11,2015 .Mark, cut down a good looking big pine that looked better deeper in the woods than in the back yard at a friends house. Went to watch , Pleasure meeting Mark and highly recommend this chap o gent to be my neighbor. I surely would have brought a freshly baked pie to see whom moved in me nearby pasture. I wish Mark and his family good health and a much more generous customers ,I n there hot days ahead remember to hydrate. Peace and happy long life to Mark his family and all his close friends / relatives .

Mark is knowledge, reliable and his work is top quality and priced lower than other tree services. He has done several jobs for me: the work is done when he says it will be (unlike many tree services). When the job is done, everything is raked clean with no damage to lawns.
I've asked him for advice / help on other jobs: while he was taking a break from a tree job, he pitched in and helped solve an electrical problem I was having. Another time, he stopped what he was doing to lend a hand with tractor repair.
I highly recommend him for tree work or other jobs (landscaping, fencing, roof repair). After you get other estimates, call A Discount: Mark will beat the price and do the job correctly.

A Discount Tree Service just finished a job of taking down 2 large trees and 4 medium size trees. I had received prices from 5 other tree removal companies.
Mark's pricing was the lowest and gladly provided a certificate of insurance. All but one other indicated the job would take 2 to 3 day to complete. Mark finished the total job in one day, which included cutting, removal and clean up.

Mark is very easy to deal with and goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied.

I needed to remove two trees and trim up another. Mark from A-Discount Tree Service provided a very reasonable quote, understood exactly what I wanted to get done, and was able to perform the work in the timeframe I needed. At the end of the job all work was performed correctly, and all debris was removed.

Wonderful. Mark got the work done in a timely manner and was fair on the price. He even made sure to clean up the fallen berries from the tree he removed for me. I would absolutely call him again from tree work.

This review is in response to the review to the individual “John D.” (7-29-2019). Since Yellow Pages does not allow responses. James Walton (in Windsor)is his real name, called for a quote because another tree service left a mess/unfinished job, complaining that he was broke from paying them in full, and still needing the job completed. Feeling bad for the guy, I cut him a break, because I like to consider myself a nice guy, and actually felt bad for the guy, but clearly stated the price was a ‘no-dicker-cash price, immediate upon completion. I even threw in some extra pruning as to restore his faith in tree service providers. Had to come back the following week as he wasn’t around as agreed. I only quoted a little high for the stumps as my stump grinder had a blown engine, and would have to rent a grinder to do it, making it more expensive. ...in his review, he stated that I even “gave him some pointers for grinding the stumps”. It wasn’t personal, but was upfront that I didn’t want to do it because I couldn’t give him value for the situation I was in, but still tried to help him out with advice. Pretty sure he left the bad review as a retaliation towards me, as he had a heck of a time grinding the stumps, which didn’t turn out so great. He bud! Tree work is hard enough, what’s harder is dealing with people that can shake a mans hand for a deal made, then change the terms, so you can take part of his paycheck, and then slap him in the face with this crap review, and have the guts to sign someone else’s name to it. Let me guess, he’s the guy at the gas station that runs in to pay the cash price, pumps the gas, the whips out a credit card and says “what?” Hey James, I don’t think you got enough spankings as a kid, and spent too much time in a poopy diaper. And we all wonder what’s wrong with this country!

Giving A Discount Tree Service 5 stars was an easy call. Mark did a great job removing a large maple tree in a tight space between two houses and the cleanup afterwards was just as good. I got a quote the same day and the job was done within a week at a reasonable cost. Mark is a personable and straightforward guy that’s easy to work with, so I’ll recommend his company for anybody needing tree service.

I hired Mark after the previous tree removal company failed to complete the job. Mark quoted me verbally, never providing a written estimate. The tree work was reasonably priced, but he made clear that he was not interested in grinding stumps, which is strange for tree removal companies, but I planned on renting and doing myself. The tree work went well, everything was completed timely, and then we got to the end and Mark asks if I wanted the stumps ground, and gave me a price. It was pretty high, so I declined and told him I’d be renting a machine, and he gave me a few pointers. When it came time to write him a check, he gave me some bull about the price he originally quoted was for cash, and check would cost me 10% more. I was upfront when he originally quoted me saying I would be paying by check. Be sure to get a written estimate with payment terms clearly written out to avoid the same situation.

Mark was phenomenal from the beginning with estimating and informing of what could and should be done till the final excellent completion. He communicated very well especially when he had to run a little late. All safety concerns and expectations were presented from the beginning.Mark's personality is beyond great and the job is beyond what was expected. Five star service at a great reasonable price. Definitely recommend and will use these services again.

Mark just cut down two rotting trees for me in my yard. I had him take down a large Maple tree a few years back and he was the first one on my list to call for this new job. Mark is very professional and a pleasure to work with. He completed the job efficiently and did an excellent job cleaning up. I appreciated that he took the time to give me some pointers/advice for my yard/home knowing that I am a fairly new homeowner. His quotes are very reasonable! I HIGHLY recommend his services!

Mark cut down a single tree for me on June 25, 2015. He completed the work promptly and efficiently. He also did a great job of cleaning up and was pleasant to deal with from the initial quote to the completion of the job.

Based solely on all of the 5-star ratings in this review, I called A-discount and was greeted by Mark when I got home from work. We walked the yard to discuss each tree I wanted removed or trimmed. We kept a running tally until the end, then shook hands on a deal. No other quotes were taken because I believed he was honest and fair based on our conversation during the walk around. The complete job was done in two days and looked great. Then on the spot I asked him if he could remove ~50 cubic yards of leaves, grass, shrubs, limbs, fencing, you name it, that the prior owner had "composted" for many years. It was all gone the next day, no mess, no fuss, and at another very fair price, in my opinion. The best part is that Mark's work at my house caused two neighbors to come over and hire him on the spot for tree-related jobs at their homes, based only on the quality of the work they saw in my yard. He's a rare find in today's world - a young man with his own business who knows his job and respects his customers. I will hire him again in a heartbeat when the next outside project arises.

Simply amazing work! Mark and his crew took down our very damaged 85' silver maple in one afternoon and with great clean up and tree removal. We had 3 other quotes and his was truly the most reasonable. Very knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. We highly recommend this very excellent company.

We called several companies for quotes to take down a huge tree that was very close to my house and also close to my neighbor's house and their fence. Most said they would come by and never showed up, the ones that showed up gave us quotes we couldn't possibly afford, and then there was Mark. Right away we could tell he is a no-nonsense, straightforward person with a lot of knowledge and experience. His quote was affordable so we hired him. He was very forthcoming with the insurance certificate, which isn't always easy to get from contractors. He ended up doing more work than originally thought because some other trees had to come down first. Then he put an orange cone in my driveway and said that is where the tree would land. It had to come down in one piece because of the amount of rot on the tree, and he didn't have much leeway between the houses. This tree was about 90 feet tall and the trunk was about 4 feet across. It landed about 6 inches from the orange cone. My neighbor was so impressed by Mark and his associate's work that he hired him to take down a tree in his yard that was also close to the two houses. It took a day and a half to finish the two trees and also remove a 6 foot tall, 3 foot wide, stump in my yard. The only break these guys took was lunch. Both yards were left clean and raked. I would recommend him to anyone, and hire him again in a heartbeat.
