I have been using Orr's Recycling for over 16 years, and I find them quite excellent. They are always fair, courteous, and helpful. While yes the newish laws regarding scrap recycling have made them more cautious in what they take from folks. They are no different than any other reputable Recycling Center. If you have your stuff in order (ID, HVAC certification, and any paperwork needed for the scrap you are selling), if you aren't trying to sell burnt copper/Hvac Scrap without the previously mentioned Paperwork, and your scrap generally doesn't look suspicious(aka slagged metal chunks that look somewhat like sewer covers someone hit with a blow torch, a pile of catalytic converters that look to be hacked off cars, or mass housing materials that you don't have proof of ownership to) You'll have no trouble selling them your scrap. I have a delightful experience every single time I visit, and I always look forward to the next time.
This place makes me feel safer. They don't buy copper from people with suspicious or bogus stories or from men who use their wives' or mothers' IDs to sell their metal. Convicted thieves are also automatically rejected. If you see a bad review, it was probably written by one of these types of guys.
