Mistreated Car Buyer

Rude and Condescending Sales Consultant

I live in Salem and drive to Wilsonville everyday for work. So I called up MB of Wilsonville to ask if I could come and talk with one of the Sales Consultants. I wanted to buy a 2011 C300 4Matic. I told the person that I work till 5:30 PM and that I will be able to come around 5:45 PM. He asked me if I really wanted to buy the car that evening and if not, he will not want to stay back. I had neither seen for real, nor test-driven the car and this person wanted me to buy it right then. He said if he stayed back, it would only be for customers who intended to buy the car during their visit.

In addition, I am not from the US and I do have an accent. I doubt if that could also have been a reason for this person's condescending behavior.

I understand we all want to be able to get back home from work on time. He could have just said that and asked me to come during the weekend. It was a hurtful experience to say the least.

Anyway, I ended up buying the car from Tacoma. I got a great deal and the sales people were extremely courteous. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

As far as MB of Wilsonville is concerned, I would just say - ""Please get a life. Even if you are not a good sales person, at least try to be a good human being and not hurt others' feelings.""

I am not going to mention the name of the person because I do not want to hurt him in anyway. All I want is the management at Lithia should take this up seriously and train their staff to be more humane and less bigoted.

Very happy with their service department

Recently bought a used Mercedes from used dealer for my wife. Took it in this a.m. and was told after they read the computer on the car that it did not really need an oil change yet. I had them do it anyway since I wanted to start out fresh. While there they handled a couple of recall items and then gave it a wash and vacuum to boot. Oil and filter service $99, the rest free... Very nice people, great, quick, friendly service. Alex patiently explained a few things to me about Mercedes I of course did not know.Overall a very pleasant experience.

I brought my car in for a regular service. Paid them to have a belt tensioner replaced. On my way home, I noticed that my A/C no nonger worked and my car was over heating. I called the dealership the next day. The service advisor argued with me over the phone and told me that there is no way they could have caused that problem. I finally brought the car back a few weeks later since I live 2 hours away. I told the service advisor not to work on the car and to only diagnose the problems. He informed me that the part they replaced had failed and he would replace for no charge. Then he informed me that my radiator fan had now failed and it needed to be replaced, total estimate= $1200. I told him to replace the faulty part they put in the last time and I was going to pick my car up and have it serviced elsewhere because he was treating me with such disrespect. The service advisor called me the next day and told me that he had the car ready to go and my bill was $1200. I told him that I only authorized him to replace the faulty part from the last service call. He rudely interupted me, in a raised voice said ""NO, you told me to replace the faulty parts"" I was livid at this point, dropped the F bomb and hung up. I called Mercedes USA to file a complaint. The will not release my car until I pay my bill. I urge you all to choose a different dealer outside of Portland because Mercedes of Wilsonville and Mercedes of Portland are the same company. What ever you do, ask for someone other than Paul Jackson.
