They quickly concluded that our existing system needed to be replaced. For options, they tried to sell us on a lot of things we didn't need. Got the base package installed and it worked for 2 days and then was intermittent. Had their service tech come out who couldn't find anything wrong. I ended up finding an issue with the control board and found out that they had re-wired the board during install. When going over the contract, we told them that we didn't want a new board because ours worked fine. When i asked them to replace the board, they became defensive saying that the fine print on the contract excluded them from having to fix any board issues. But it is apparent that the work they did created the issue. After being jerked around, they finally said the fine print was a CYA for them - their install team can't be held responsible. It is like getting your car brakes replaced, then your tire alignment is off afterwards, and they claim it wasn't their fault.
Had an error code on my thermostat for the unit that O'Brien installed in February 2014 but the unit still seemed to be heating just fine. I contacted Dwight in the service department to let him know about it and he immediately knew what it was. There was a minor issue with the heating element that he said they could fix that same day. So they sent Joey out and he was awesome! They let me know when they were on the way and Joey was very polite and quick to assess the situation and get it taken care of. When he left I couldn't even tell he had been in my house. He left it just as clean as he found it! :) Can not say enough great things about the staff and the company!
I was stressing out over what company / brand HVAC system to go with. O'Brien and Mike R. came to the rescue. Mike actually conducted a load test to determine the correct size unit. No other company I contacted took the time. Everything was scheduled and everyone was on time. Rich and John came out to install the unit and were prompt, courteous, and wasted no time. I didn't look forward to replacing my unit but O'Brien and team made it a pleasant experience.
We had a new Trane system installed and O'Brien did a great job. All employees were knowledgeable, punctual, courteous and responded promptly. They went the extra step to ensure we were satisfied. They were wonderful to do business with - very satisfied customer and would highly recommend!
The worst!! I called them to fix my AC...a guy came and "worked" on my AC for ten minutes, then tried to charge me over $400!!! Needless to say it broke again about 4hrs later. I refused to pay him except for the service call (which was roughly$100) and gave him his parts back(which I later found out were the wrong parts) and he told me off to my face! AND he broke my pipe and left everything unscrewed so all my freon leaked out after I refused to pay.
We just had a new unit put in our home,that has never had one before.I could not have asked for better service from the salesman to the carpenters that worked on our place. They was on time,and cleaned up as they went.Very polite and helpful.
My unit has worked great with no problems and you can't even hear it running. I am so glad we went with O'Briens. I would recommend them to everyone.
If your getting a new unit, they probably are the way to go, but as far as service, way overpriced, did not do the job im still sweating, and they want more cash to fix what they should have!!!
O'Brien Service deeply regrets any dissatisfaction from any customer. Mr. Braswell did call back for a second call one week later. Mid July saw record high temperatures which caused concerns from homeowners and the performance of their systems. We made several recommendations to assist Mr. Braswell during the three visits we made to his residence. The second and third responses to the home were all at no charge. We offered recommendations to evaluate the unit and its proper sizing for his home at no charge to help find the best solution. Our first visit also recommended other service issues that were declined. In the end, we refunded Mr. Braswell in full, even though we repaired his outdoor unit, and assisted him with installing a thermostat he had purchased from a retail supplier. I am grateful for the positive comment he gave concerning new units, however I hope consumers recognize O'Brien's thirty-one years of service history, that earnestly seeks to satisfy and exceed the expectations of all those that request our services.
O'Brien installed new indoor and outdoor units for me yesterday and they did an excellent job.
They were on time, worked hard and were most pleasant. They cleaned up thoroughly after they completed their work.
I am very pleased with the products (Trane) I purchased from O'Brien, and their service has always been exceptional.
We just had a new Trane Heat pump put in our home two months ago. We are really please with this new unit. Our old heat pump was still working fine when we replaced it, but it was over 16 years old and we knew it was on borrowed time.
O'Brien put our old pump in and had serviced it from day one. We felt that the new more effient heat pump would be an great investment for our home.
After two months. this unit heats and cools so much better than our old unit. It takes only minutes for it to change the temperature in the house. It is amazing how more effient this new unit compared to our old one. I have also seen a steady lower electricity bill. We had new air ducts put in to replaced the old ones which I am sure made an improvement as well as new installation.
This new unit so far has proven to be a great investment and great improvement to our home. O'Brien did a great job installing our new unit and we could not be more pleased with our service.We also will be able to get a tax credit this year for putting in a new more engery effient heat pump,
