At Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital we strive to provide the best care for your pets. We are a fully equipped facility offering wellness exams and preventative care, routine surgery and dental cleaning, digital radiography, acupuncture and herbal medicine. We also offer canine and feline boarding as well as bathing and professional grooming.
Diet, genetics, chewing behavior, and preventative care are all factors that contribute to your pet’s dental health.
Vaccination
Routine vaccinations are the most effective way to prevent common infectious diseases. We will create a vaccination plan that is best suited for your pet based on age, risk factors, environmental exposure, and lifestyle. Over time, we will adapt the plan to meet the changing needs of your pet as he or she grows from a youngster to a senior.

Nutritional Counseling
Healthy teeth and gums are directly related to a longer lifespan and fresh breath. Dental disease can lead to pain and discomfort, decreased appetite, and bacterial infections that can spread from the mouth throughout the body. Your pet’s teeth will be evaluated at each exam, and if periodontal disease, tartar, or loose teeth are present, a dental cleaning will be encouraged. Dental prophylaxis will remove the tartar buildup to help restore healthy gums and fresh breath.
Comprehensive Examination
Annual wellness exams are vital for the early detection of medical conditions and are key for preventing disease. During your pet’s exam, we will address any concerns you may have and make the best recommendations for your pet’s health.
Every pet is at risk for parasites. Fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites can be easily prevented with monthly medications. These products can be purchased in our hospital as well as through our online pharmacy, and we will make the best recommendation based on your pet’s needs.
We will work together to create an exceptional small animal hospital for our community by providing outstanding client service and compassionate patient care. We will continuously strive to meet the highest standard of veterinary medical and surgical services. We will provide our employees with a work environment that is challenging, rewarding, educational, enjoyable, and fulfilling. Through education, we will teach responsible pet ownership, which will empower our clients to allow their pets to live their best life.
Our patients are fully examined and current blood work is recommended prior to any anesthetic procedure (required if seven years or older). An IV catheter is placed to allow for fluid support during surgery. We use some of the safest drugs and anesthetic gas available, and vital signs are closely monitored until the patient is completely recovered. Pain control is implemented prior to any surgical procedure, continued during hospitalization, and if needed, after discharge.

We offer Save This Life animal microchips. A single injection is all that is necessary to provide a lifetime of protection. Each Save This Life microchip number is searchable in a Google search. When someone finds a pet and performs a quick Google search of the microchip number, they are able to privately contact the pet owner with a text message and an email. The pet owner receives a GPS map, powered by Google Maps, of where the person who found their pet is actually located.
