I have been a donor to the good works of the Salvation Army for many many years. Lately they have been pricing their donations of clothing with stapled tags. These tags rip, tear and ruin many high priced items of clothing when removed. Please find a better pricing system for clothing. At least tag them on the labels or on a seam so they will not be ruined immediately. I will not donate a pricey item of clothing again until a new pricing system is chosen. The clerks at the register are hit and miss on their customer service skills depending upon what mood they seem to be in at the time. Pricing is fair but again, great clothing is being ruined by a simple STAPLER. I detest this pricing method and there are many good cheap systems available. Why not a color coded tag in the label? Simple, easy and your sales would definitely go up. Again, I love the Salvation Army for their dedication and many good works.
Have been shopping at the Salvation Army thrift store in Wilmington, NC for as long as I can remember & probably spend around $5000-$10,000 there annually because I believe in and respect their cause/mission. Although most of the employees there are kind & professional, there is a relatively new manager by the name of Nancy who is hateful & rude to customers. Based on what the cashiers have told me, many customers have complained about her on a daily basis. I think the Salvation Army organization should be aware that this is maybe not the personality they want representing such a noble & benevolent organization.
Sure I had the same woman at the register as other reviewer, lady was very rude and made prices as she went. Bought two t shirts and some shorts and prices were supposed to be $2 per shirt and $3 for shorts. The lady charged 4.25 for one tee, $3.25 for other. I asked why when clearly the price on all the signs is $2 each and she said "THIS IS A POLO TEE AND THATS THE PRICE!" when no price tag was on it. Truly ridiculous how they business. Way they do business should be illegal and should be more kind and honest seeing how its a church run organization.
Overall, The Store Is Organized; But It Could Use An Upgrade In The Staffing, Pricing, And Customer Service Department!The Staff Makes Up Prices As They Go or They Will Ignore Their Own Sale Signs And Mark The Item Full Price. Also, They Usually Only Have One Person Working Up Front At The Register And Sometimes I Will Even Have To Search Around The Store And Ask For Someone To Help Me At The Front Desk. I Was In The Store Today 12/14 And Decided To Purchase Five Tote Bags That Were On The Handbag Fixture Marked 50% OFF On All Four Sides. I Got Up To The Register And The Lady Working Says, "These Are Not Handbags, So They Are Not On Sale". Needless To Say, I Pointed Out The Sign And That They Were On The Handbag Fixture. She Still Refused To Give Me The Sale Price. The Only Reason I Didn't Fuss Back Or Ask For A Manager, Is Beacuse There Was A Really Long Line Behind Me. * I Walked Out With Nothing And I'm Still Furious At That Employee. *
