The selection was sufficient for a smaller airport and the cars available were of good quality. The attendant at ILM was very helpful when I can concerns about scuffs from a previous rental on the car I selected, which made returning the car stress free. Overall, great rental experience.
We were very disappointed with our service this time. We went online to book our car. We completed all the steps and was given the final cost- so we thought. We paid with a debit card and was told that we needed copies of two current paid utility bills, proof of insurance coverage and copies of paychecks to show that we were currently employed. When I booked the rental online I did not see any of these requests. The information that I saw just stated the forms of payments accepted. Credit card, debit cards, money orders,etc. Nowhere in the that information did it state that additional information was needed. I was pleased with myself because I thought that by booking online I was receiving a good rate. When we finished with the transaction our cost was $80 more that we anticipated for a 2 day rental. The vehicle was for $49.99 per day and with the taxes etc. we were given a cost of $124. When we left the counter we had to pay $204. We picked up the vehicle on Friday morning around 10 AM and returned it on Saturday night around 10:30 PM. I felt that we could have been accommendated more for all the trouble that we went through. I will second guess myself now when it comes to a rental from Enterprise. We may take a different route. Not happy with the service received this go-around.
This is the second time that I have rented a vehicle through the airport I have had nothing but excellent customer service through this location. My vehicle was upgraded for no additional cost and the transaction was swift and courteous. I will definitely be back! Thanks!
I recently had the unpleasant experience of renting a car from this location. Not only were they out of cars the fist time I tried to pick up but when I finally got the car it was visibly dirty and almost out of gas. Awesome. On top of the condition of my vehicle every employee that I came in contact with seemed like they had a different personality disorder. I was not greeted with a "Hi, how can I help you?" instead, "Returning? Give me your keys." Rude much? When the time came to return my car on the scheduled day the office was empty with only a phone number to call for "assistance". What kind of business closes during normal operating hours? Upon calling customer service I was told "They are picking up cars at the airport and you will have to wait for them to return". So, after waiting 30 mins for someone to show up I was then told the car was too dirty and that I would be fined $50. After I had cleaned the vehicle to spotless perfection I was informed that I would be charged an additional late fee for taking the time to clean. WHAT. Overall a complete nightmare with no redeeming factors. I would go anywhere else before going to Hertz again. Aside from all the ridiculous rules, fees, and conditions I was not treated the way a customer, or for that matter, a human being should be treated. Locals be warned.
